Yes I agree Samsung’s mobile sales are shrinking, and it is also affecting their client business because Samsung mobile is their
Largest customer.

Apple is only using Samsung as an OLED supplier for 2019.they have at used any other component from Samsung since 2016.

It’s hitting them very hard. This all happened during first month sales of the s10. That makes it a sales flop, and at this point it’s performing worse in sales than last years failure, the galaxy s9 series.

To confuse apathy with disgust is a bit strange but you do seem to change your mind a lot.

No worries it seems plenty of posters have elected to return their s10 for other smartphones, as well. No shame in it.

How would you know unless you were in there reading? But were oh so disgusted at being quoted.

Yes my S10 was returned in exchange for another device. I won't tell you which one as you'll know already, what with your interest in me and Android devices in general. Despite pretending you don't.

And if you don't know, well it isn't made by Apple. So you may have a heart attack at the mere thought of it. Hopefully not though.

Didn’t know why I was mentioned in that the thread, probably baiting.

Are you kidding the alternative section is hilarious, especially when it comes to incorrect sales data or skewed market analysis, I also find It funny the amount of times posters declare the iPhone to be inferior to the android device of the month and switch, only to return to iOS in due time and apologize for it, it’s quite comical.

Enjoy whatever device you choose, doesn’t mean it’s actually going to sell in any substantial numbers.
In relation to Samsung, their weak smartphone sales for the quarter has significantly impacted operating profit. 60% decline in yoy profits due poor sales has also affected their components division responsible for the components in each unsold galaxy phone. Unfortunate for Samsung.

Educate myself on what? I don't get aroused over sales figures but whatever you get off to is your business. I couldn't really care less.
Turn the lights down, crack open one of them articles, shut your curtains and off you go.

Those articles are not very clear about what the cause of the low profit is. They say it's because of a decline in smartphone sales. I'd imagine this is globally as Samsung provide parts for Hwawei, Apple and Google amongst others. The articles don't really say anything specific about the sales of the S10.

Each of those other companies use multiple suppliers for components (diversified supply chain), except Samsung. Samsung galaxy phones are predominately Samsung components. That’s why the decline in profits is quite severe.



Samsung issued the warning , the concrete numbers will be released shortly.

“The South Korean technology giant said Friday that it expects operating profit for the first quarter to plunge by 60% compared to the same period year ago.”

Keep in mind, you’re on an Apple site, so you’re going to have those who are very partial and biased towards Apple _anything_ they make. But to your point, yes, I think Samsung makes an incredible phone. But to the consumer, I don’t think they necessarily care about a ‘good phone’ from Samsung, they care about the ecosystem and software, which that’s why iOS is so favored over Android. It’s not that Samsung doesn’t make a good phone, (because they do), it comes down to the choice of the operating system.

welcome to macrumors forums, where a lot of people will do ANYTHING to defend their beloved Apple. They will throw sales numbers and profits at you like they are owning Apple Inc themselves.

Untill this day I still don't understand for 1 second (or less) why I should care for these sales numbers/profits, as an (end) user of its product (iPhone).
Heck, if the sales profits and sales numbers are getting sky high for Apple its just a confirmation for them that they can continue increasing prices to the max and do very little to their products, like they did the last few years ofcourse.

Totally no benefits at all for me as the (end)user and most important; my wallet ;)

But I could understand the psychological aspect of consumer-thinking ''hey, I am paying Apple $1000+, so that must be a unique true multitasking tool/ smartphone...you can not find this with a $400/$500 smartphone!!''
Also, Apple is fully aware of this way of consumer behaviour ofcourse, hence their skyhigh cashflow

Beloved Apple? Sales and profits are, imo, used when the "Apple is doomed" meme is trotted out, just like marketshare is used in some aspect of defense of Samsung/Android and to show how far Apple is "falling behind". It's a vicious circle.

Both are meaningless when discussing personal preferences and offer no insight into what is better for the individual and what the individual values regarding the manufacturer. It goes far deeper than multi-tasking, which exists on most modern devices with a processor.

Apples "skyhigh cashflow" is due to providing quality products, services and support that their target demographic want to buy. It may be that if one isn't an Apple customer, they may not understand how cohesive their platform is.

But a good job in posting a condescending post in a flowery way.:rolleyes:
