I really like my S10+ but after seeing Samsung's warning report, I don't think I'm going to use it anymore.

I did the same. Threw my S10 Plus, out of the window.

What's the point in using a phone after this warning report?

I am gonna ask Tim C. if I can get my money back so I can buy the new Huawei P30 Pro.

Beloved Apple? Sales and profits are, imo, used when the "Apple is doomed" meme is trotted out, just like marketshare is used in some aspect of defense of Samsung/Android and to show how far Apple is "falling behind". It's a vicious circle.

Both are meaningless when discussing personal preferences and offer no insight into what is better for the individual and what the individual values regarding the manufacturer. It goes far deeper than multi-tasking, which exists on most modern devices with a processor.

Apples "skyhigh cashflow" is due to providing quality products, services and support that their target demographic want to buy. It may be that if one isn't an Apple customer, they may not understand how cohesive their platform is.

But a good job in posting a condescending post in a flowery way.

You got a point there are some posters who only talk about sales and profit to show apple ia doomed.

so many fake news/numbers.

No way that there are more then 40 million people around the globe ordering the iPhone X on Oct 27th.
I could believe 15-20 million (worldwide) on the pre order date.
40 million of sold iPhone X over a timeframe of 2 to 4 months, that I could believe, but again...not 40+ million at the same time/day on tht 27th.

Some people here think pre ordering the iPhone X is like ordering a supersized McDonalds meal at your nearest DriveThru.

We are talking about a €1000+/$1000+ phone, people.
Newsflash: there are millions of people laughing at this insane price tag.

I am one of those crazy people who's ready to order the 27th, though!

you truly believe 50 million people are willing to pay more then $1000 for a new iPhone?

I don't know who came up with this number, but that person probally thought buying the iPhone X is something similar as buying a super sized meal at McDonalds. ;)

Turned out apple sold over 70 million iPhone X units. Who would have thought.

Didn’t know why I was mentioned in that the thread, probably baiting.

Are you kidding the alternative section is hilarious, especially when it comes to incorrect sales data or skewed market analysis, I also find It funny the amount of times posters declare the iPhone to be inferior to the android device of the month and switch, only to return to iOS in due time and apologize for it, it’s quite comical.

Enjoy whatever device you choose, doesn’t mean it’s actually going to sell in any substantial numbers.
In relation to Samsung, their weak smartphone sales for the quarter has significantly impacted operating profit. 60% decline in yoy profits due poor sales has also affected their components division responsible for the components in each unsold galaxy phone. Unfortunate for Samsung.
I really laugh at people that get so emotionally invested that they brag about how much profit a company makes off them. Last time I checked us consumers are suppose to look for the best value for our money, not for the company who sells the most units or makes more profit. I guess thats why I own products From Apple, Samsung, Sony, Yamaha and the list goes on. I don't pledge my Allegiance to any one brand and anyone with any sense shouldn't. On topic the S10 is a great phone, its very well reviewed, if you prefer iOS then it might not be the phone for you. Its very simple.

I really laugh at people that use the term “emotionally invested”. Can’t really invest your emotions, how would you collect your roi.

You know what else is funny, referencing value when a company’s profit falls 60%. Thats a great joke.

As a consumer I wouldn’t buy a product at full price that isn’t selling well, that’s an indication that the product is overpriced relative to its value.

Well reviewed and adequate sales are two very different things.

You are talking rubbish, have a good day.

Oh no everything I said was on point. Emotional investment is exactly the right term, look it up.

You seem to be an expert on “emotional investments”, I was referring to “have a good day”.

Just because the s10 isn’t selling well or Samsung’s profit has declined 60% yoy due to weak demand shouldn’t affect your usage of your device. Enjoy it .

There you go again with taking any chance you get to reference Samsungs sales and profit, don't you understand any normal person does not care about that, once I give Samsung my money and they give me the phone my interest in how well they are doing as a company is non existant. God forbid Apple ever have a huge downturn people on here will be ready to end it all as they care so much about the company, im sorry but that kind of thinking makes no sense to me.

If that were true you wouldn’t be defending Samsung so so much on a mac forum, you wouldn’t care, right? Pot calling the kettle “emotionally invested”

This thread is about s10 returns, which is directly tied to sales and profit. There are less “normal people” giving Samsung their money this year compared to last year, that’s what the data shows At least.

No worries.
Hypocritical statements “makes absolutely no sense to me.“

Anyway once again enjoy your device, Samsung’s financial performance and weak s10 sales should have no material impact for you...right?

I'm not defending Samsung, im laughing at people who treat thier chosen company like a religion. Also correct, low Samsung sales have no impact on me or my enjoyment of the phone.

Uh huh , of course not .
Enjoy your phone.

I wanted to find out if anyone recently tried the S10 and returned to an iPhone? I got an itch to switch to the S10 due to the Qualcomm radios, a headphone jack, no need for an Apple TV to mirror a screen to a smart TV, a compact device (S10e), PiP mode, split-screen apps, an always on display, and to save $ over the iPhone XS Max.

However, I am having some second thoughts because the XS Max has great battery life, FaceID, less software quirks, handles SMS and MMS much better with low signal strength, and works well enough to do the core functions pretty well.

I wanted to read up on someone's thoughts on switching over and if they had similar feelings about being unsure about a switch?

Yes I agree Samsung’s mobile sales are shrinking, and it is also affecting their client business because Samsung mobile is their
Largest customer.

Apple is only using Samsung as an OLED supplier for 2019.they have at used any other component from Samsung since 2016.

It’s hitting them very hard. This all happened during first month sales of the s10. That makes it a sales flop, and at this point it’s performing worse in sales than last years failure, the galaxy s9 series.

Samsung Forecasts Steepest Q1 Profit Slide in 4 Years as Chip, Phone Sales

It doesn't surprise me a tall, they raised prices to compete with Apple at the same level, but at the end of the day the device is indeed using Android at it's core. For that price it needs a full on ecosystem on mobile/desktop like I have with iOS /w Mac OS.

One of the things that pissed me off the most is how there isn't any communication between the mobile phone and a PC, taking calls on the Mac for me is over the top because I don't have to take my headphones off and pick up the bloody phone to take a call.

Other small features like being able to copy paste directly from the phone without having a third party app.

At the end of the day it's the ease of accessibility that wins me over every time.

It's amazing how people won't give credit to Samsung for making such a good phone.
So much this. Because of my job I need both iOS and Android so I have an iPhone XS Max and a Galaxy S10+. They are both excellent phones and important differences come down to personal preferences. Differences like Samsung has 4 more megaflaps than Apple while Apple has faster bibblesquips than Samsung are trivial differences that don't really matter on a day-to-day basis.

Except latest androids are faster, shoot better, have better battery life, look better, charge faster, have more features have better biometrics and are cheaper.

And lastly - who does even use Mac these days?? I mean, it's 2019 already, Macs feel like last decade tech.

You work for Apple, don’t you? The only reason I recognize your name is because you’re in damn near every android thread. Always ripping the android phone, then telling the person in question to “enjoy their device”. Working for apple would be a good gig. I’m sure some people on here do work for them, but you really come with all kinds of sales numbers and financial analysis on why android phones are so far behind and so lacking. Either you really love apple or you have an ulterior motive.

Lmao who's the current president of the US in this alternate universe of yours?

Did you really go this far into the iPhone forum to complain that people who post here prefer iPhones?

You can show me an iPhone, that is faster, shoots better, has better battery life, better screen, better sound, or whatever better, than a Galaxy S10+.

Honestly, even if the Galaxy S10+ has a better battery life, camera, etc, it still wouldn't be as great imo. What the iPhone does with its ecosystem is amazing. iCloud photo library, Apple Music, handoff, iCloud sync (especially with third party apps like notability...being able to sync notability notes from iPhone to Mac without even having to do anything is game changing). I just can't get that on another phone.

Don't forget universal cut-n-paste, airdrop, messages across all devices instantly, keychain sync ... all built in without having to rely on third party software.
