Regarding the bolded text, that's exactly what it comes down to. Is it's user based experiences. No two forum members or any other iPhone owner will have the same battery life, because they use their iPhones for different purposes, which have an affect on the battery life with applications, signal strength, multitasking, etc.

Point is, is that you will read positive experiences and negative experiences, but that applies to any iPhone, not just the iPhone 7 Plus. It's really varies on how you use your iPhone more than what the actual numbers stated the iPhone can be rated for battery life.

That's the thing. It was the same user. The guy who wrote the iPhone 7 review on Techradar. He couldn't get through a day with the 7, but he was able to easily get through a day, even two, with the 7 Plus. I'm starting to think his 7 might have had a bug.

I think there are so many variables with usage of an iPhone and battery life, there is no such thing as complete consistency with daily usage of one's iPhone. I can tell you from owning the iPhone 7 Plus, I have had stellar results. But that's my experience.

It sounds like the iPhone 7 the guy used for tests had either a hardware or software issue .. I know quite a few members on here had hardware issues with launch day iPhone 7's causing battery drain Issues and eventually had them replaced (mine included). If he tested both phones under the exact same conditions and neither phone has any hardware or software issues the difference should have been moderate with the 7 plus having the better battery life but certainly not double the battery life i.e 2 days compared with less than a day.

Did you upgrade from a 7? How much better is the battery life?

I own both the 7 and a 7+. And I can tell you from owning the 6S Plus, the battery life has improved. I would say I see at least an additional two hours over the 6S Plus. More so, I feel the iPhone manages the battery life fairly well paired with iOS 10.

I got iPhone 7 Plus couple of days ago and i have to disagree with you on battery life improved over iPhone 6S Plus, my brand new iPhone 7 Plus is not out lasting my 1 and half years old iPhone 6S Plus:mad: in terms of battery life.

The issue is most likely with 'your' iPhone 7 plus not the iPhone 7 plus in general as they have improved battery life over the 6s plus.
It's most likely software related .. could be an app, could be the install of iOS itself, could be something to do with your back up if you didn't set it up as a new phone when you got it?
If you were to dfu restore it and set it up as a new phone and test it without installing any apps and it still performs worse than your old 6s plus I would then say it possibly has a hardware fault.
Cheers

@Sunnysunnysingh . As deano1972 stated, you have owned the iPhone 7 Plus for a few days and your complaining about the battery life based on what possibilities of the drainage? The iPhone 7 is rated with a higher battery life expectancy over your 6S Plus. Two additional hours to be exact. So if your not achieving more Efficient battery life, then share more information on your usage or post a photo of your battery statistics.

Also, to further assist with your issues , were you going to answer Deano's questions?

Did anyone upgrade from a 7 to a 7 Plus? Exactly how much longer does the battery last? Everywhere I read seems to say 2 hours.

How is a bigger screen a upgrade if you don't like a bigger screen?

Apple is in a downward spiral. There should be one iphone in two different sizes. Period. You should not be penalized for wanting a smaller phone.

Just because you don't like a bigger screen doesn't mean that Apple doesn't upgrade its phones. Many people like the bigger screen.

Going from the iPhone 7 to the iPhone 7 plus is definitely a positive, in my opinion. Whether or not it is enough of an upgrade for one to warrant the purchase is a subjective decision.

Apple is not in a downward spiral. Far from it.

How are you penalized for wanting a smaller phone (which is at a lower price)?

Why don't you guys in Settings, Battery , select "last 7 days". Then tap on any app in the list to get the usage time for each app. Add that altogether. Divide by 7. That's basically as close to a screen on time average you're going to get.

The "last 24 hours" snapshot for usage includes background tasks - everyone is different in this sense. Focusing on Usage time would give a more accurate idea of how much difference the 7 and 7 Plus have in battery life.

My wife always complains about the terrible battery life on her 7 Plus and absolutely despises my 7 with smart battery case setup.

I am surprised at all the complaints about battery life on the 7 Plus. The one thing I can think of is people are using it more for the convenience of the larger screen. I know I am since I am no longer automatically reaching for my iPad when I need a larger screen.

I charge mine every night and the battery is usually around 55-65 percent, I play with my phone all the time according to hubby.

Maybe Hubby suffers from iPhone 7 Plus envy.

Good practice ..It's actually good for the battery to put it on charge when it's around 40-60% rather than letting it drain really low.

That's fine as long as there's none of this going on..

Went from the 6 to the 6S Plus and noticed a difference, though it could just have been because it was new and the tech was more advanced. Not big enough of a difference to change screen size if you favour a smaller screen mind you.

How much better was the battery life? 1 hour? 2 hours? You should've noticed an increase in average usage.

Two main differences between the iPhone 6 and 6S Plus, is the 6S Plus has a much larger battery and additional RAM for efficiency. And factor in a more efficient A9/M9 processor as well to assist in managing the battery.

As per Apple company statement, iPhone 7 will last two hours longer than iPhone 6s and iPhone 7 Plus will last one hour longer than iPhone 6s Plus.

I found a screen shot of battery usage on the 7 that I had and was quite surprised to find one.
16ff3018510865264cdce514a432ecab.jpg

So I had 2% after 10 hours and 8 mins of usage.

Here is the screenshot on the 7 Plus that I posted earlier:
7d292ed3d4c98b9ed908e0c4e946b0ff.jpg

So assuming linear depletion, the Plus would have 2% battery left after 12.8 hours.

Typically the difference will not be that much, I was 50/50 on wifi/LTE for the Plus and 25/75 for the 7.

That's some great info! Thanks! So I guess the difference will be 1 to 2 hours?
