That's not really possible because all the androids already have aod. Only apple lags behind, as usual

So regardless of aod, you wouldn’t get an iPhone X’s max, just want to be clear.

You can focus as much as you want on aod all you want ....... but Specs android lags behind apple, as usual
7nm soc with an 8core npu
3d facial recognition
SS chassis
Nvme
120hz touch sensing
4K video longer than 5 min
Edge to edge display without a forehead or chin.
iMessage and FaceTime
Continuity, handoff, and airdrop
iCloud copy and paste
iTunes in the cloud
No Apple Watch (android wear and Samsung gear can’t really compare)
Apple Pay
Best display
Best speakers
Dolby vision
True Tone
Airplay
3D Touch
Dual sim is now standard across all iphones
Apple support/ Apple stores
Sapphire crystal lens cover
No google tracking shenanigans.
7.7 mm thick
Etc etc etc.

But hey aod.
And if apple offered it you still wouldn’t buy the iPhone X’s max because other features, got it.

Lmao half of the things you listed are so funny.
Naw I'd rather not have a notch
far better notifications
a larger Usable screen
double the storage any iPhone could offer
actual split screen multitasking
An actual file system where
Ability to use the pixel camera
Way better slow motion than any iphone can offer
Mobile payments that work with all terminals unlike Apple pay
A headphone jack
True dual aim (not that esim crap)
Scrolling screen shots
A finger print sensor + iris scanning
A watch that can last more than a weekend trip
A system wide ad blocking
Oh and most of all, an operating system that let's me do what I want aka set whatever default app.
And last but not least, an always on display haha

Btw any thing on your list can be done on Android. Apple doesn't even let you change the snooze time on an alarm lol.

I completely agree that’s quite a funny list.
Headphone jack, magnetic strip compatible, dated bezel and chin design, micro as cards, fingerprint and iris, analog or digital watch,a file system, 2 sec video recording. .

With a list like that, Doesn’t sound like you were ever serious about getting an iPhone X’s. Aod or othewise.

Thought we were talking iPhones lagging behind but that’s just really old and dated tech....what were you saying about sheep again?

Enjoy your device.

yes i listed everything that an iphone will never have and can never do. it hurts i know. just go buy airpods and a watch and a macbook just to do what one single android phone can offer. ouch!

That’s great. don’t think I would want an iPhone in 2018 that only did those things.
But good for you.

And Your right I’m going to enjoy my iPhone Xs max, Apple Watches, AirPods, ipads, MacBook pros, iMacs and Apple TV.

Enjoy your your single device as well.

How does this make any sense? Lol it's like me saying, if you really wanted to have a camera, you should have a stand alone camera for the task...its a phone... I want it to make calls and text. End of story, if I need to have a camera, then I'll buy one and put it next to my bed. Sigh some Apple users are just...

I’m your logic, that phone should be capable of everything... it does what it does the best, and always on display just not one of these things that we’ll need. Maybe for you but for people like me, I’ll rather have my phone completely dark during my sleep, if I ever needed to l ow what time it is, I can just tap the phone, it’s not that freaking hard... I’m sure you’ll have a sense of where your phone is even in the dark.

Don't need it because you don't have it. You realize it is not only useful while you're sleeping?

I don’t think it’s a battery issue but more of screen burn-in issues with OLED
It's both, although Samsung mitigates burnin by moving AOD around. I don't understand people saying that it has no negative impact on battery. It visibly cuts into the battery life and anyone can see it in a day by enabling/disabling it.

Having said that, I see no harm in giving the option to the users.

How is it useful during my sleep? Does it track my sleep like a guardian? Wow... and I do hope you know that there is proof apps that you can use for that. It was cool and fun until I got bored and deleted it.

Alarm Clock - Alarm & Weather by iHandy Inc. https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/alarm-clock-alarm-weather/id332064280?mt=8

You’re welcome!
I wasn't clear. It's not only useful while in bed. It can be used throughout your day. So although you don't want any thing on your screen at night's / while in bed, it can be used in other instances. You know, like if you're sitting at your desk now and stepped out to use the rest room. When you get back, you may have gotten a notification and could see that without touching your phone. Unlike in your scenario without AOD you will have to check everytime you come back to your desk.

During the day it sits in my pocket whenever I don’t use it, and besides I take my phones to the bathroom with me . You’re right at the missed notification part, but for me it’s no big deal, since I check my phone every few minutes if I’m at home. For business people then yeh, it might be good, but for me it’s good enough...

Agreed. It's not for everyone. But it can be and is useful for many people. It definitely wouldn't be of much use for people with smart watches.

... I got one coming tomorrow, but I’ll turn it off during my sleep...

AOD is a great feature. Consumers dont buy iphones for features. They buy them for security, fluidity and the ecosystem. Until sales slow down I dont see apple adding features like this.
