Went to BB at around 10:35am, pre ordered the 32gig White. I filled out everything, and thought I was good to go for the white model, then I get a call about 2 hours later from BB, informing me that they would not have the white, so I just agreed to the black instead.

Anyone with Best Buy Preorder Reports?

Alright so I decided I would go to the ATT store to pre order. Went through everything and they said they would ship it to my billing address. Problem #1, its in Florida, I am currently in NJ, so there is no way of getting it or changing the billing address. So I went across the street to BB and preordered it there, I am number 28 of the day. They said they would call me on launch day. Problem is with BB, I am using somebody else's upgrade on my account, so I figure I will go across the street to ATT to deal with the swap.
Went to BB today and pre-ordered a 16GB black and 2 16GB whites... I was #9 for pre order on the black one and #1 and #2 for 16gb White ... Only problem is I ordered one of the phones for someone not on my family plan acct yet... Will I have a problem getting the $199 price if I put them on to the family acct when the iPhone comes in at bestbuy?
Yes, you can.
The only thing you cannot use is those 10-15 percent discount coupons they send out every few weeks.

Not true. Sorry you had to go through that. If it were me, I would speak to the manager about that guy. I totally "get" joking around with the customer...but THAT is insulting. If you are paying upwards of 200 bucks for anything, you should feel comfortable doing so.
He lied about it not being an option. The option for white is on the sheet they have you sign. Whether or not they get them is another story, but the guy was wrong...it is an option.

what did you get after you placed a pre-order at BB as a proof when picking up the iphone? For me, I was given a BB mobile 50D GC with an receipt attached to it. They didn't give the actual slip with my name, address and phone # (also the bar codes for 4 types of iphone).
Is it confirmed that Apple Stores will not carry the white iPhone on launch day? Or is the only thing we know, is that you can't pre order a white iPhone at the moment?
Because it looks as though, stock is obviously lower for the white and Apple is making that a first come first serve option on launch day...
My bestbuy has me down for a white. I called later today to see if anything changed and asking if they were taking any preorders on the white model and the store manager told me that they had been "tapped out of all whites as of noon"
So this tells me they had a certain number in their system... and any reports saying they're coming in july, or august are based on next shipment dates, so we may very well see a white iPhone at launch at some BB stores and Apple stores as well....

.i got some sheet that says "The Recommendation..." at the top, it has my name, phone number, best time to contact, carrier, the iphone i pre ordered, the date, the name of the worker that helped me and their w/ phone #, and a bunch of accessory recommendations.

That is what I am expecting (hoping for really) such limited quantities that Apple doesn't want to get people's hopes up
I too just got back from preordering a 16GB White from my BB. If they don't have it on launch, I will demand my money back. I don't want anything else from their store with this 50 dollar gift card.
Got back from my BB store, I was #24, manager seemed pretty confident anyone who pre ordered today was set on getting one. He said that they initially took pre orders for white iPhones but then got a phone call from corporate to stop taking white pre orders and to call people who pre ordered white iphones and tell them that it would not be available.
Just called my local Best Buy to verify that I will be getting a AWhite, which I pre-ordered. THey said that yes, but they've stopped taking pre-orders because of limited availability. So, so far Best Buy seems to have been promised a small amount, which have been sold out.
Since my ATT order seems to be someplace between reality and the abyss (no order status info for 10 hours now), I pre-ordered at my local best buy in Upper Bucks PA at 5:15. I was #4 for a 32GB Black. Got my gift card and receipt stating iphone pre-order.

Called my BB and asked if they didn't get white in at launch if I can get my money back since I already preordered, took my name and number and he's gonna be calling me back because he said "they just received word about the white iPhone situation." I'll let you know what happens after they call back.
I got the $50 gift card, the receipt, and a copy of the page with my name, address, etc, and the bar codes, showing what I selected, all stapled together in a neat package.

For real. I was in and out in 5 mins. Not sure where I was on the list, but I only saw a handful of others ahead of me and I believe all stores were getting a min of 45 so I'm good.
One thing my local store told me is that best buy does not expect to get the phones early in the morning. She estimated 11 am.
