Anyone's BTO shipped yet? What is the ship weight through the tracking #?

Damn you Germany............why you holding onto my macbook? It was "flying" to me nicely, now it's stuck in Germany since 11pm (uk time). 10 hours, i hoped i would wake this morning to earler than predicted delivery.....:(
 
Yeah they really seem to be stuck in Germany for some time!

I wonder if the tracking system maybe just stops being so comprehensive once it hits Germany?

Ordered mine Feb 25... Paymend arrived at Apple on Feb 28... It should be ready for shipment in 1-3 days... But it still hasn't shipped, it's the 4th day now :(
 
Mine left Germany at 0355 this morning, was in Dublin at 0435, left there at 0535, arrived in Shannon at 0625... and it's still there! :(

Only 132km to go! Hurry up UPS!

"Out for Delivery" generally means it will arrive that day.

Anyone else who arrived in Germany last night still in Germany?

Mine arrived at the same time as a few others who appear to be out for delivery however mine seems to still be in Germany today!

Mine is with yours i suspect. No chance of delivery today! Mine is down for delivery tomorrow anyway so i suspect they will leave Germany later tonight. maybe its because they are waiting for a few planes to offload so they only send 1 plane to the uk?

Good to hear, I wasn't expecting mine until Monday but as it has got closer and closer i have become more excited! If there was no tracking at all I would be cool as a cucumber but watching my macbook go from place to place has really turned my week upside down!

The UPS delivery method that Apple selected for these MBPs appears to be the economy option which holds the packages in Cologne for a day.

Yeah, I was only expecting mine tomorrow but when I found out it could be sooner I have been refreshing UPS tracking every 5 minutes.

I feel your pain! ;). Mine was originally expected 7th to the 10th March but it's now scheduled for tomorrow so i'm not too upset with Germany holding onto it for a few hours now (bless em) :p
 
Yep mine has been delivered this morning :) Now gotta wait till I finish work to rip it open :p

Load balancing. Depending on what is coming through and at what priority they can hold a package for the next available plane or truck that has space / weight that will still make the promised delivery time.

It also make sense to hold it at the local station until another package that needs to be delivered to a close location on the same day comes in to save local delivery costs.

Getting it to you as soon as possible is not their goal; getting it to you on the promised date at the lowest possible cost to them is since that's how they make money.

You may get it early, you may not.
 
UK folks - which courier are your orders coming through?

I ordered on the 24th, it got shipped on 28th, Monday but I'm not seeing any tracking info, still just says "In transit to final destination - carrier details to be updated shortly."

This is what I'm seeing:

Estimated Delivery Date (Subject to change) 12 Mar 2011 (Subject to change)
Current Delivery Status In Transit to Customer - Shipment on Schedule 04 Mar 2011

What's with the 4th March teasing?! Does that mean they expect it to be delivered tomorrow?
