Not seeing any Fedex flights out of Anchorage today for Memphis or points east. So, looks like it will be waiting in Alaska until tomorrow.

+1, but then again, I tried tracking the flight from Shanghai to Anchorage and was unable to find any.

Yeah, the reason for that was that the flight when from Shanghai to Narita but that info isn't listed on the Fedex site.

Try your tracking number here:

http://smallbusiness.yahoo.com/r-packageTracker-s-fedex

It typically displays more info than the fedex site.

Typically the package would go to Memphis next but nothing is scheduled. There's a chance that we could go out on FDX22 that departs at 2:59PM AK time and heads to Indianapolis.

What is the best way to go about migrating my HD in my current MacBook Pro over to my new one on the way.

The reason is I have a 7200rpm drive in my current one and want to move it over to the new one preferably without having to wipe the drive and re-install OSX..

I added a map feature and some users and I polished up the sheet. It's shaping up to be pretty helpful. There aren't that many users with purchases past 2/25/2011 on the sheet so if you fall into this category, please post.

The more data, the better we're able to estimate our Macbook Pro's arrival!

You should add a column with the last activity (in transit, or left facility, etc).

Just checked - Got some new progress...

It's left Shanghai and arrived in Korea?!

Incheon, Korea, Republic of 01/03/2011 8:37 Arrival Scan

Why's it going that way? :p

*facepalm* you're right. Well I feel sheepish...

Nah, no reason to feel sheepish. Several people on this forum have tried it already and ended with severe kernel panics. Personally, I'm excited to do my first fresh install in 7 years or so.. This will give me reason to just go ahead and strip the OS down as well to reduce its footprint. But, that's me, and I get a kick out of setting up new machines and making small personalized tweaks. :)

For everyone else, it's unfortunate that Apple needed a new build to support these processors. It really causes a bit of inconvenience for people with lots of software installed that needs to be transferred over.

Looks like ours could be traveling together. Arrived in Korea at the same time. :)

My Macbook has just departed from Shanghai :)

My current progress reads:
Shanghai, China 01/03/2011 3:14 Departure Scan
Shanghai, China 28/02/2011 22:48 Export Scan
Koeln, Germany 28/02/2011 15:27 Package data processed by brokerage Waiting for clearance
Shanghai, China 28/02/2011 20:00 Arrival Scan
28/02/2011 16:55 Departure Scan
28/02/2011 14:08 Origin Scan
China 28/02/2011 0:38 Order Processed: Ready for UPS

The bit about Germany - Does this mean it will stop off at Germany before reaching the UK?

I believe Fedex's/UPS European hubs are in Germany. So majority of traffic routes via there.

Went through same with the new MacBook Air.

Couriers seem to be able to pre clear packages with customs hence the comment re waiting approval in Germany - even though package had not yet had it's departure scan in China.

Think my MacBook Air took approx 14 hrs from physically arriving in Germany before being put on a plane to the UK.

Just hope my new MBP turns up as quick as the MacBook Air did :)

Cheers

Steve

Actually, the more I think about it, with all my "good stuff" (i.e. music, etc...) on an external drive, I don't think I'm going to migrate much of anything. I may need to re-download a program or two, but I have most of my install disks.

The spreadsheet is pretty cool. I didn't think there would be so many 15" MBPs, I though the 13" would have been the hot seller. It's all good though. :)
