got damn. today i was making lasagna and was looking forward for dinner and a clint eastwood western and all got ruined but this ****
Cloud music is such a myth of "convenience" - download once, one lot of bandwidth, never any more, job done. Stream the same song every day, that's that songs file size multiplied by how many times you stream it, which is far more bandwidth than download once, listen many. On top of all that, you're still left without music - how's your cloud gonna help you NOW?
Cloud people won't tell you that part though...

It's not the problem that's the problem; it's your attitude *towards* the problem that's the problem. Scrub your plans and change them, and deal with the disappointment. Some people walk 20 miles for a muddy drink of water, and never complain once.
"Ruined"? Nope, maybe you're just spoilt.
What's worse is storage is becoming more massive, and cheaper than ever. Pretty much anyone can afford to have a few TB of local storage at home, and back it up too.
Do you have a link where this was announced?
So, would you like to explain to me how Steve Jobs never did anything wrong
and Tim Cook has yet to do anything right?
I'd like to see this 'announcement' also.
I'd like to see this 'announcement' also.
"We apologize to our customers experiencing problems with iTunes and other services this morning. The cause was an internal DNS error at Apple. We're working to make all of the services available to customers as soon as possible, and we thank everyone for their patience,"
And when exactly did I say Steve did everything right?
Ohhhhhh yes, that's right: I never said/inferred that.
Way to deflect there, champ.
NOTHING, and I do mean NOTHING, like this would ever have happened under Steve.
Cook and his absolutely infuriating "Everything's Amazing!" demeanor fosters an atmosphere
of eff-up after eff-up after eff-up happening,
because nobody's living in fear of thier (professional) lives
when cock-ups of this magnitude and frequency occur,
as is all too often the case with Cook's current stewardship of Apple.
The Beats purchase, Mapgate, Updategate, the fashion hires ....
Again, dissasters of this scale, and, more importantly,
of this frequency would never have happened under Steve.
Because of, if more than anything, outright abject fear.
"Is that any way to run a company?", you may ask.
Only the way to make it the biggest in human history, I would answer.

I will.
In the computing environment I created everything of importance is resident on my personal NAS equipped server.
In addition I use Cloud services for convenience and a secondary solution to store the data or any files I choose to share.
With a combination of hourly snapshots and full backups daily, onsite and off, I'm well protected with immediate easy access from any of my cross platform devices.

#1, please don't tell me how I "act".
And #2, OK, so Google's irresponsible, too. Happy now?
Brill. How do you spend the 2 remaining hours a week, when you're done with configuring the world's data structures - do you get time to eat and sleep? I think we should all come and move into your house... Hehe
