Every Apple product I've ever seen via pictures I've wanted and thought the design looks awesome, this just looks below par and not what I expected.

BTW a quick note if this was the real deal would Apple not have asked MacRumours to pull the article? something to consider.

Saying something like you personally don't like it is fine, but to call the design below par is pretty crazy because the majority think it looks great.

I LOVE the new design

It looks like a monolith from 2001 Space Odyssey.

I love it's thin, exact square, flat, minimalistic, industrial design look. Never liked iPhone's curved design.

All that said though, the seams have to go...

If this is the real deal do you think there's any chance that Apple will launch a press conference early to announce the new iPhone? Ride the wave while it's there n all...

edit: Also, smaller screen? HUH?! WHY! I don't care if the resolution is higher why make it smaller? :(

In general, I think the new iPhone is fantastic. The new high-res screen and support for Bluetooth keyboards will make it incredibly useful for remote admin of Windows boxes via RDP, and I think the styling is pretty good. However, I'm not so keen on the micro-SIM simply because I'd like to buy one outright without tying myself into another 2 year contract and getting hold of a Micros-SIM for a non-iphone account may be a bit tricky...

never thought about that... true....

Anyone who thinks this doesn't reflect Apple refinement needs to look at this excellent Gizmodo photo of the back:

Now that's clean! Compare and contrast with the back of any other smartphone on the market. My question: how do you protect the camera lens from getting hazed? The slightly recessed lens of the current model is hard enough to protect from scratching - I use a case on my iPhone for that reason alone (though I would much prefer to just carry the phone "naked"). The new design, if real, makes a case even more critical for camera protection. Unless that new plastic/ceramic/glass back is super scratch-resistant...

It seems that nobody is considering the possibility of Apple pulling the article from every website IF it was real.

I can imagine it now, steve jobs is looking over these threads and laughing his ass off because its not the real thing.

Yo, just asked three designer friends: yep it's ugly.

It's not even close to Blackberry's "professional" and classy feel, and it doesn't look like a finished and clean product.

Otherwise, of course it's a prototype. It means that all c*cks*ck*r who are all ready bragging about buying it, don't have any taste, and they are the stupid consumers needs to BS us.

I think I'll like the final iPhone 4G.

You know the current iPhone has these same screws right?

Ah you're correct. To be fair, I was looking at my first gen. iPhone while writing that post which doesn't have the two screws.

Still, I'll stand by the "flush" feel I mentioned, a look I hope the next iPhone retains.

1 Year ago a Chinese employe loses an iPhone 4G and then comits suicide .. And now a iPhone 4G emerges .... May it be the same phone that disapeared one year ago ... if so this iphone as caused blood ...

So the poor lost phone finds it way back home - all the way from China.
It almost gets back to Cupertino, and then ends up abducted in a bar...

It could make a great movie. Like "Incredible Journey"! But starring a phone instead of a dog.

What I want is the next iPod touch to have a camera and WiFi and have the same 3G network that the iPad 3G will have. I...don't...need...a...phone. And I'm certainly not going to pay $60 bucks a month just to have an those features from the iPhone.

Seriously, I'll pay 300 or so for a iPod Touch if it had a nice camera, GPS and the iPad 3G networking stuff. I'd pay the lower monthly fee for the AT&T 3G like the iPad 3G will have. I just don't need the fricken phone and from what I can tell (tell me if I'm wrong), I can't get an iPhone with that stuff without signing up for a 2 year AT&T mobile contract.

Wow, Apple must not be making any money right now selling the iPhone the way they do and not the way you suggest. It's about context. The phone model wouldn't work on the iPad, makes perfect sense on the iPhone even if it's not exactly what you want.

The more I look at it, the more I like it. At first, I was neutral about it, but now its looks okay. Of course, I'll rather have it in white.

Pulling it, just verifies it.

Hopefully it comes in 64GB and 128GB options!

128 GB would be nearly impossible at this stage. I'm hoping for 64 GB (in fact, I will NOT buy it unless it's at least 64 GB), but even that is questionable if the new phone only has one flash slot like the current one does - 64 GB flash modules are still VERY expensive.

I wonder how that initial 80 GB rumor got started when this story first appeared???

This has been discussed ad nauseam. It appears every few pages.

Looks better than previous blurry pictures. I kinda like it :)

I will be honest, I wasn't too excited when I saw the blurry pictures. But now getting a closer look, it looks pretty sleek!

Looks like it is the next iPhone. I really do like it, maybe minus the random cut out lines.

Ya although I like it overall, I do NOT like the seams on the aluminum frame or the round volume buttons. But this is likely a prototype or materials build and those things could change. If anything changes, the seams would be the likely candidate.

I still don't believe it to be a real iPhone. Has there ever been an iPod with a user replaceable battery? Just that alone makes me seriously question it...

People are ASSUMING the battery is removable. I don't think it will be. And there isn't much room for denial on this anymore. The evidence that this is real is pretty overwhelming. Read the article on Gizmodo.
