Apple senior 1: I wonder how people will react to the new case design

Apple senior 2: Well, let's "lose" one and we can get some free market research

Apple senior 1: No-one will believe that :/

Apple senior 2: They will, because we will change the case before launch anyway once we find out what they don't like and call this a leaked prototype

Apple senior 1: (rubs hands together)

Actually... doesn't Apple always uses a red circuit board on prototypes?

Gizmodo wrote the article. MacRumors just pointed at it.

And who would stop such an article for Apple, anyway? It's not like Apple has a history of giving anything in return for such demands.

If the phone was stolen (if), then it is arguably a misappropriated trade secret, and courts would likely enjoin publication if asked to do so. If the phone was merely lost, then it is unlikely.

Just a simple question to all those who shout that it is(f)ugly, looks like cr@p, would never, ever buy it, etc. What exactly makes that phone so ugly to you? (Not as ugly of course when some of you thought that it was a cheap, Chinese knock-off. Because it was unbearable at that stage ).

That, I'll be glad to explain you.

If you're normally composed, you will, like the vast majority of commenters at the time they were showed, liked these design immediatly:

That's it, that's the magic of design and you can tell who's a good designer from one who's not by the DIRECT impact he's able to have on a vast majority of people.

If a majority or a lot of people say it's ugly as ish for a product as important as the iPhone, then something is wrong. And that's why it's not likely to be the final product, which presentation is two month away in fact..

I could be unhappy with the Macbook Pro updates, but I like the design, I can piss on the iPad, and not really like the design, but I can't say it's ugly as well. Here, it's the case.

If it is the real deal...

I like it, and at least everyone will know you have the newest iPhone...not the case when the 3GS came out. I'm getting in line right now.

Deiter Rams says.....

• Good design is innovative.
• Good design makes a product useful.
• Good design is aesthetic.
• Good design helps us to understand a product.
• Good design is unobtrusive.
• Good design is honest.
• Good design is durable.
• Good design is consequent to the last detail.
• Good design is concerned with the environment.
• Good design is as little design as possible.

In that case, what we are seeing is good design. They've knocked it out of the park.

You sir know how to read, but not what the words mean obviously. See my last post on design.

I shall listen to Gruber, he's always right.

"
Folks, listen to me, this is NOT a “controlled leak” by Apple. Apple doesn't do that, and if they did, it wouldn't be to Gizmodo.
" - Gruber

That would really break precedent. Gizmodo sat on it probably because they were checking with their lawyers.

It's been hours since the last post at gizmodo.com
Are they still checking with their lawyers?

I wonder why Gizmodo sat on their hands for a week?

I wonder if a deal was done with Apple? In return for the scoop.

C.

Gizmodo would have either been:

A. Trying to get their DSLR working so they could film those fine movies. (I particularly like the slow-motion pans with the iPhone on it's edge. Super sexy.)
B. Trying to drum up the money to pay the fence.
C. Too drunk with excitement to write.
D. Had to consult with their lawyers first.
E. Had to make travel arrangements for a fast car to Mexico.

Or maybe they just type really, really slowly...

iphone 4g

To the dude who lost the prototype iPhone 4G in a bar. Steve Jobs probably choked him via iChat video conferencing.

"Apology accepted employee Needa"

if the final design has those gaps in the sides of the aluminum and that 1mm offset reveal between the aluminum and the front and back glass, someone take Jony Ive out back and shoot him.

However, if the final design doesn't have these two things and isn't such an abandonment of Apple's dedication to seamless design, someone give him a medal!

If this is indeed the new iPhone, I won't be excited when he presents it. The only thing I'll be excited about, is the fact that we will be closer (weeks to a month) to seeing it released to the public. I honestly don't think I'll use the front facing camera that much. I barely use my laptop webcam. I am happy it finally got a camera flash. Apple has FINALLY released that people attend concerts and like to take pictures in the dark.

A flash even on a real camera does you absolutely zero good at a concert. Unless you are on the front row and the musician comes right up to your face. The range of that tiny flash is going to be about 3 feet tops.

Flash locks the shutter speed to something like 1/60th so it illimnates blur of your hand movement, but you still will be taking a relatively dark photo.

i have concluded this. it is real in a sence it frome apple. second this is most likely going to be simmilar to the final product (as people have said it goes through many design changes). third i think the design is stunning, even though it is a step way back because the back isnt curvey:p ). when it is booted it has a connect to itunes screen that just screams YOUR GETTING SUED (if its fake). and last it has fcc markings witch i illegal if its fake. :D:apple:

Actually reminds me of my old Sony Ericsson T610
