Hyped!!!

I am so HYPED!!!!! I won`t be able to sleep at all, really. I just keep watching the pics and videos from Gizmodo and reading the forums, especially this topic. I have read all the posts already in what - more than 30 pages? :D I can`t wait for the release..the new design blew me away. It looks amazing, and it goes perfectly with my Macbook Pro 13″ ;)

I won't go
I won't sleep
I can't breathe
Until you're resting
Here with me
..my new iPhone!!!!

That, I'll be glad to explain you.

If you're normally composed, you will, like the vast majority of commenters at the time they were showed, liked these design immediatly:

That's it, that's the magic of design and you can tell who's a good designer from one who's not by the DIRECT impact he's able to have on a vast majority of people.

If a majority or a lot of people say it's ugly as ish for a product as important as the iPhone, then something is wrong. And that's why it's not likely to be the final product, which presentation is two month away in fact..

I could be unhappy with the Macbook Pro updates, but I like the design, I can piss on the iPad, and not really like the design, but I can't say it's ugly as well. Here, it's the case.

So... Where exactly was all this 'pontificating' when Apple was developing the 3rd generation iPod Nano, or the current iPod Shuffle?

Actually reminds me of my old Sony Ericsson T610

Sweet mercy, did you really have to bring up the absolutely-worst device I have ever owned??? That is the POS I dumped (with much relief) for the original iPhone.

Utter junk.

(I did like the design, however.)

Apple senior 1: I wonder how people will react to the new case design

Apple senior 2: Well, let's "lose" one and we can get some free market research

Apple senior 1: No-one will believe that :/

Apple senior 2: They will, because we will change the case before launch anyway once we find out what they don't like and call this a leaked prototype

Apple senior 1: (rubs hands together)

This works best if you imagine Mr. Burns and Smithers from the Simpsons as the two Apple executives.

WHERE are you getting these numbers from? "The internet" and the fact that you "can count" are hardly reliable sources. From what I'm seeing it's about 50/50 people who hate/love it. The haters are louder and more easily noticeable than the others. Just wait till June and everyone who is b****ing will be the same ones in line ready to buy.

I like the design, if the just remove the two seams (which I suspect they will) then it's perfect. Looks like a nice progression for the iPhone and I'll be glad to upgrade to it.

Actually it wasn't that bad of a device for me. I did swap out the LCD and firmware with the one from the T630, so it was pretty nice after that ;)

Sorry, it's those round buttons that brought it back the memories.

Since gizmodo has the iphone why dont they tear it apart and tell us the specs on the processor and everything else
they did and told us that it has apple componants in it but the M/GHz arent listed on the proccessor

.... also how can apple remotely disable a device.
mobileme you can erase the device and it makes it display connect to itunes symbol making the phone useless

Shouldnt gizmodo be able to find out who the sim belongs to and activate it in one way or another?
no cause you have to connect it to itunes and it is certain that itunes 9.1 doesnt support this iphone so it cannot be activated through itunes no matter whos sim you put in and you cant try and activate it with the beta 4.0 OS or any other iphone OS beacuse each firmware is ties to the specific device e.g. 3GS firmware cannot be used with 3G

its all fishy i bet apple released it to begin the hype and i doubt this is the final model...I bet theyll take out the seams and make it look more like the ipad and the macbook pro and mac casings.

It looks to me like there is plenty of room (and a gap for it) to add the chrome ring around the phone that's been there on every version of the iPhone to date.

Or at least more bevelled aluminum more like the iPAD.

You sir know how to read, but not what the words mean obviously. See my last post on design.

Apple does not design by focus-group.
The group-think methodology does not work. Because the group has no mind.

Great design emerges from meeting these goals. Not by chasing the ill-developed aesthetic sense of fanboys, who would not know great design if it bit them on the bottom.

If the device is turned on and connects online and a command has been issued from mobile me it will disable.
An iphone thats disabled will have to be restored thru itunes and then anyone with an AT&T simcard can activated. But obviously there is no firmware available for this device so noone can restore it right now. The 3GS or 3G firmware wont work with this iPhone.
It can only restore when the official firmware for iphone 4 is released thru itunes and thats not probably due till June or July.

I will believe this is real when I see it in Steve's hands. For now I call fake purely because it took a pretty big fall from the ugly tree.

I hope to god apple do not release a product like this, as they would begin to look like their competitors.

Dear Apple,

Now that the cat is out of the bag, how about just releasing this thing in May?

Thanks,

Us

i don't like those random cuts..

They're not cuts or seams... they're RACING STRIPES !!

Everyone feel better now?

but still, this is a prototype.. the finished product may look totally different!

Prototypes don't leave Apple labs. Production test units do. Hundreds of them.

However, a late trim change is always possible. Apple switched from plastic to a glass screen with just weeks to go on the first iPhone, after everyone complained ahead of time.
