It's iOS 7 (or 8), everything is the wrong color. The icons are the wrong color.

Because of competition. You don't want to be the man with the smallest ...That looks far too big. Why does everyone want the massive phones?
Think centering ring for magnetically attached lenses. Keeping your optics on axis is a big deal and a simple ring like this would go a long ways to making accessory lenses worth the while. The phone looks like the real deal actually, the protruding camera doesn't look bad at all.
This looks like Apple's finish, the OS is sketchy though.
So what, its running an older beta. The hardware can still be the real deal.No it's using the older design.

What are you talking about? They are all 16:9. The 5,5" isn't wider than the 4.7".The screens are just getting too damn tall. It looks so awkward. That's why I plan to get the 5.5" version. The extra width just makes it look more proportional.

You don't remember negativity about the design of previous iPhones, but I do. Perhaps you don't remember it because it wasn't you who was complaining.I wont sweat not owning an (poorly designed and ugly) iPhone either, trust me.
you say an small number always find the new design unacceptable however this time around this small number appears to be the majority of forum members and internet community.
I don't recall such huge negativity about any other previous iPhone (except 5c and we all know they didn't sell good enough).
We didn't see huge disappointment with previous models because they are excellent almost perfectly designed devices.
This one lacks in design and it's not opinion of a few minority.so maybe Apple do sweat after all.
Still these assumptions are based on leaks,we have to wait for the real product and see.
I predict that in a couple of years, the next generation of iPhone will be met with the same resistance:The new iPhone is UGLY. Yuck! It's too tall and skinny. Weirdest proportions ever just to get another row of icons. Letter-boxing everything that can't fit? That's going to go over well.
It looks so dumb. Just an awful form factor.
You can't fix stupid. Can't wait to laugh when all the Apple fan boys line up to buy this junk when they could've had a G3 or Nexus S. Then they will pout when they realize they have no NFC, no MicroUSB, no way to sync with a real computer (unless they have a MAC), no real support (because Apple loves to sell but washes their hands at that point).

That I was wrong? Might also be that the phone still ends up looking like this, but this is STILL a knockoff.

We'll probably hear something like "unapologetically ugly!", that appears to be new standard speech for describing poor products.
No, they're not. The gradients don't look identical to iOS 8 beta 5, but then again tiny visual details routinely change before the final release. Remember control center?
What are you talking about? The 5C has sold phenomenally well. Any other phone conpany would LOVE to sell as many units of a phone as apple sold with their second tier phone. It has been one of the top selling phones for every network for almost the whole past year.

How can you say that? Do you have any numbers to support your claim? For my part I have NEVER ever seen anybody holding a 5c. I only know of a friend who bought one, and that's it. So I think it's safer to say it did not sell well, trusting my own eyes more than Apple's PR department. Am I wrong in doing so?
Because the software wasn't finalized at the time the phone was produced. But why would an "actual" iPhone 6 be running a beta?
It can't be from a store, the iPhone 6 isn't for sale yet.Not if it is from a "chinese store" like the leaker claimed to.
