It's iOS 7 (or 8), everything is the wrong color.

No it's using the older design.

The phone looks like the real deal actually, the protruding camera doesn't look bad at all.
Think centering ring for magnetically attached lenses. Keeping your optics on axis is a big deal and a simple ring like this would go a long ways to making accessory lenses worth the while.
This looks like Apple's finish, the OS is sketchy though.

Why? Let's face it pre releases OS's are not expected to be 100% anyways.

The screens are just getting too damn tall. It looks so awkward. That's why I plan to get the 5.5" version. The extra width just makes it look more proportional.

What are you talking about? They are all 16:9. The 5,5" isn't wider than the 4.7".

So what, its running an older beta. The hardware can still be the real deal.

Lol at iPhone 6 running iOS 7 beta. Come on now.

Also the music app is wrong (gradients are reversed compared to the real one)

I wont sweat not owning an (poorly designed and ugly) iPhone either, trust me.
you say an small number always find the new design unacceptable however this time around this small number appears to be the majority of forum members and internet community.
I don't recall such huge negativity about any other previous iPhone (except 5c and we all know they didn't sell good enough).
We didn't see huge disappointment with previous models because they are excellent almost perfectly designed devices.
This one lacks in design and it's not opinion of a few minority.so maybe Apple do sweat after all.
Still these assumptions are based on leaks,we have to wait for the real product and see.
You don't remember negativity about the design of previous iPhones, but I do. Perhaps you don't remember it because it wasn't you who was complaining.

The new iPhone is UGLY. Yuck! It's too tall and skinny. Weirdest proportions ever just to get another row of icons. Letter-boxing everything that can't fit? That's going to go over well.

It looks so dumb. Just an awful form factor.

You can't fix stupid. Can't wait to laugh when all the Apple fan boys line up to buy this junk when they could've had a G3 or Nexus S. Then they will pout when they realize they have no NFC, no MicroUSB, no way to sync with a real computer (unless they have a MAC), no real support (because Apple loves to sell but washes their hands at that point).

I predict that in a couple of years, the next generation of iPhone will be met with the same resistance:
"The iPhone 6 was beautiful. Why did they have to make the iPhone 7 so ugly." The people complaining won't remember your complaints any more than you remember the ones from two or four years ago:

It should be, a 5.5 screen is wider than a 4.7" screen. The reason they look so tall is due to the home button and symmetrical design of the phone.

Your wrong wiesenlooser

That I was wrong? Might also be that the phone still ends up looking like this, but this is STILL a knockoff.

You say that it is a knockoff. Where is your proof? Apart from the fact that you say the reflection should be uniform.
Actually I think you will find that reflections are not always uniform.

it depends not just on the surface being flat and even etc, but also the angle of the surface, angle of the picture being taken, the shape of the lights or objects being reflected and so on

so there is as much proof to show this is real as their may be to show it is not.
your argument is flawed and proves NOTHING.
if you wish it to be fake then at least say so, stop pretending it is fake and is so just because you state it.
Plus if you were an industrial designer then what I stated would be common knowledge to you.

We'll probably hear something like "unapologetically ugly!", that appears to be new standard speech for describing poor products.

The only thing poor I see in these forums is people's understanding of what good design actually is! It looks like Apple has hit this one out of the park actually.

No, they're not. The gradients don't look identical to iOS 8 beta 5, but then again tiny visual details routinely change before the final release. Remember control center?

This is the iOS 7 beta icon design, BETA. They abandoned those gradients for more subtle ones. Icons on this leaked, so called iPhone 6, don't match with iOS 8. Simple as that. Also, music a app is wrong.

What are you talking about? The 5C has sold phenomenally well. Any other phone conpany would LOVE to sell as many units of a phone as apple sold with their second tier phone. It has been one of the top selling phones for every network for almost the whole past year.

How can you say that? Do you have any numbers to support your claim? For my part I have NEVER ever seen anybody holding a 5c. I only know of a friend who bought one, and that's it. So I think it's safer to say it did not sell well, trusting my own eyes more than Apple's PR department. Am I wrong in doing so?

Having worked at a cell phone store.... yes.
