I agree about the clickable touch ID area. And understand and also appreciate the top bezel symmetry.

Minimized side bezels should have been a strong point here however. As to have the most desirable ergonomical grip possible. Which we would think is one of the main objectives here.

Granted with the LG G2/G3 this was mainly achieved having the power button on the backside of the phone etc.

Having said that I'm really liking the Sharp Aqous Phone. That design is a head turner.

As well as the Samsung galaxy note edge, head turner wise.

iPhone 6... Maybe trump card is the "sapphire" glass display.

We'll see soon

No need to be confused...

----------

To me it seems like the real thing... I'm really confused right now

While it is certainly *possible* it isn't likely, based on historical trends. As I said before, there may be a few pre-production units in Cupertino. The likelihood of AAPL being able to mass-produce one of the most rumored devices in their history and not have a single piece of it leak until two days before introduction...from china...are astronomical. Just think Swift and the (new) Mac Pro. 100% internal, no one knew anything or saw anything before introduction.

Using just these two recent products as a baseline, are you still confused?

Don't know about that, but I'm 100 % sure that this is what the iPhone 6 will look like. Sure, the actual press shots and renders will look a lot better and more finished, but in the grand scheme of things this is what is coming.

It can be a production reject or a super early prototype of sorts but it seems to be running iOS and therefore it was made by Apple.

Only two days to go.

They did. It's the same as on iPhone 5 and 5S. 16:9.

Expecting more of a scaled resolution instead of them adding more pixels. Also after playing with devices with higher screen densities I wanted more.

Frankly, this design sucks.I will never pay premium for an Apple device than lacks in design department.
seems like Ive boy messed this one too just like he did with the awful 5c.
So for me I'll wait for iPhone 7.
My next phone will be either a 5s or possibly even a flagship android,I dislike android and am heavily involved in Apple echo system but poor and ugly design is not acceptable.

Honestly I don't think it's that hideous, but I do think it's half step backward, external design-wise. I would have been happier with a larger 5S-ish design. The 5S is really sharp, this thing is just OK. Sure, it could look more awesome in real life than in these sketchy videos, but so far I'm not really blown away. I'll upgrade because I'm still rocking a 4S and it's getting a little long in the tooth, but I'll actually feel I'm giving something up (I really love the 4S design).

I'm not picking on you, specifically...but this un-sanity needs to stop people.

This is it. Deal. Now...lets talk tech:

• You cannot make a phone that is fully incased in aluminum.
• This "bezels" nonsense is just that. Just...stop it. Touch ID - requires a camera and an inductive ring to activate. Or would you like it on the back? (groan)
• I have a 5s full of ugly micro-cracks because glass bands on the back. Apple learns. You should too. I don't buy these things to hide them in a case...I'm "unpoor" and can replace or just give it to someone when next year's model comes out. Don't be a snob if you can't pay full retail, unlocked. It just makes you a poseur.
• Apple does not, has not, and will not design the 'Fantasy Device' that you fap off to in your dreams. There is a thing called Engineering, which is limited by physics
• Let me make sure I am *crystal clear* on this: Apple actually figures out how to make an iPhone that is damned near as thin as an iPod touch that presumably has enough juice to keep a cell radio (huge, huge power drain btw) going long enough to be useful...something folks have been 'if only'-ing about for years...and you are crying? My GOD.

I am *far* from an apologist...I make my actual living deep, deep in the AAPL ecosystem and have been screwed painfully, no vaseline, no reach-around by 'Big Fruit' on more than one occasion...but it has gotten to the point now where this current gen of Middle-class wannabe snobs that are 'Apple Loyal' have effectively lost their goddamned minds. Have you seen Mountain View's plasticky 'flagship'? When was the last time any of you picked up the "brick" that is a 4/4s?

Have some damned perspective, people. Just...WOW.

Wow...

not knocking the greatness of iphone 6; it's just I've felt it has taken a step back in terms of looks judging from these leaks. Of course, my opinion may change once I have seen it and hold it in person. And really, they could've at least reduced the bezel at the top. I can understand the need for the fingerprint home button.

Some people seem to consider the protruding camera to be un-Apple like, but at the end of the day it will not keep people from buying it.

It doesn't bother me on ther Galaxy S5 at all and I really don't see what the big deal is with it. What I was really hopping is for a bit thinner bezels. Otherwise it looks quite nice to me and actually like the back design that many here dislike.

And yeah, people will not hold off buying it just because they are unhappy with 2 or 3 things. There will be things not to like about any device you find on the market to be honest.

Comment on Every Apple Product Launch I can remember from since when Think Secret was still published :)

This sort thinking is what triggered my 'rant' in the first place. It's just getting reeaaallllly old (for me) but I realize many folks in these parts are 'Nouveau Pomme'...

What irks me are the people that are NOT at Apple, have not worked closely with Apple in any capacity whatsoever or even know anyone at Apple in California outside of a retail store talking about what is or isn't 'Apple-like'...when Apple already makes/have made these so-called 'Un-Apple-like' products already.

How long has the iPod touch has a camera that isn't flush with the body exactly? Since yesterday?

I like that look. Not sure what I would use one for or why I should be buying one, but I'd definitely rather have a band like this than some wannabe watchface.

I like the look as well. Seems plausible, but it also seems like something that's doomed because it's a giant cuff. Specifically about the video, it has the feel of someone sneak-recording and then being nearly caught at the end...which confuses me about the authenticity.

Oh well, Tuesday will resolve all.

Exactly why it was made that way :) The eyes are (surprisingly) easy to fool. Add some theatrics and tension...viola.

As it came from china, it could very well be some Android-based thing built based on a concept render/popular expectations. China is awash with this stuff.

I'm gonna go look in the "usual places" to see if I can find it.

The iWatch is not going to leak, there's no way for it to leak.
Just like the first iPhone Apple still has not even started production.

Chinese leaker has gone silent... Something is cooking... Money is moving...

Maybe Swiss or Japanese made instead of china since it's a watch.

Not saying they can't at all. I think they're definitely capable of doing so. Sent from my iPad.

I hear ya. I've never understood why people believe Apple's choices have anything to do with a lack of 'ability'.

The make choices. Seemingly, these choices have proven to serve them...and their customers...well.

Wow if that's it it looks great imo

Looks like a cuff bracelet lol. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1410074119.801189.jpg

They have already made *millions* of these things. You really believe that out of *millions*...already built...this one guy in *China* couldn't have a legit unit?

The dissonance...

Yeah, he could have a fake one hacked together from parts, an unfinished pre-release version, or anything that is not quite an "official, functional, and activated iPhone 6". I don't see what's so improbable about that, especially because iPhone activation has to be done through Apple, and maybe they haven't enabled that yet.

I expect to hear this from the marketing team:
  • Organic
  • Natural
  • Ergonomic
Jony: "Feels so natural in your hands"

Well, the 5C was organic since it was plastic ;)

I can live with the new curvy style although it's not my favorite, but still I really don't like those ugly side bezels, however I'll wait for the black 5.5" phone wishing for those bezels to look a lot slimmer with the bigger screen.

Headed to bed since the leaker has stopped giving away more info.

Spend some more time looking at the short videos and this longer one:
http://v.youku.com/v_show/id_XNzc1NjE1NzE2.html

I have sort of come to the conclusion that this particular unit is not a "production version" that's why we don't get to see the packaging and its running a lower version of the current beta.

It's normal to think Apple runs two beta programs one that's open and another one internal with all the changes and new features and this phone looks to be running that one.

So this could totally be a test device, final product should have improvements over this one Hardware or Software.

There's still a lot to look forward on the :apple: event. The reveal of the 5.5 and day it goes on sale and the magical iWatch that will for sure surprise everyone.

The possibilities of both devices having NFC and being able to interact with both phone and watch with a touch could be cool. Like just touching your iPhone to the iWatch to transfer an address and start the turn by turn directions on the watch.

I'm excited. Good fun times.

Hope the 5.5 is better than this one in at least resolution.

All very true. The question is, given months and months of leaked parts, if or not one expects to see something radically different?

This same exact "cycle" happened with the 4's...and the 5's...the final product is revealed and 'OMG'...it's...like...the...parts.

At some point people have got to accept that nothing in production is a secret. For me, it is a kind of strange comedy that Apple even bothers anymore; their "classic model" isn't sustainable anymore.

The *only* things that have been a genuine surprise are things they haven't built yet.

I suspect that this new wearable thing, whatever it is, is going to be the "next phase" refinement of their formula tho – corner what they can on components, announce, then ship in "limited quantities" within one fiscal quarter.

This methodology would give them back the 'surprise' factor they do so adore, but not give competitors enough time to make a quality fast-follower.

Otherwise, they might as well just give up on "Announce and Ship"...it just takes too long to have millions of pieces of inventory built, QA'd and made inventory-ready for it to be a "surprise" when it's revealed.

What a strange UX for wireless devices when one is ostensibly designed to be 'always at a glance' and the other 'stowed'...
