For those of you wishing to donate to the Japanese Red Cross, I've found a link on their website (in Japanese) that you can donate with your credit card.

https://www2.0553.jp/jrc/payment/

It's best that you understand japanese or open up a separate page via Google translate.

Alternatively, you can also donate via Google to the JRC. Do note that if you choose to donate to RCs in your country, check if they will pledge 100% of your donations to the earthquake relief.

I love this and find it a very easy way to donate and I donated $200 last night. No forms to fill out or anything. I trust apple and I know all the money will go where it should.

Best to go out of the way and donate directly to Red Cross. No sense in the money being handled by any other third party - no matter altruistic they try to be.

Apple says that the Red Cross will receive 100% of your donation. If you use your credit card to donate $10 to the red cross, do you really believe they actually get $10? Your credit card company won't handle that money for free.

If you donate $10 through iTunes, Apple will _not_ receive $10 in their account, but a bit less. However, the Red Cross will receive $10.

That speak volumes about how greedy apple really is. GOD forbid something like this cost apple one cent. Charging to the credit card Apple take out the credit card processing fee (1-5% depending on the card) and pass on the rest.

"iTunes will transfer 100% of your donation to the American Red Cross". So which is it: Is Apple lying, or are you stupid?
