But the statement doesn't say the issue affected the 6 core i7.
Man, you guys should start reading completely?

Again...cut from original post:
Apple says the bug affected performance on not only the high-end 15-inch MacBook Pro configured with a six-core Intel Core i9 processor, which has faced the most extreme throttling in tests, but also quad-core Core i7 and Core i5 configurations, extending to the latest 13-inch MacBook Pro with Touch Bar models.

'We found a bug'. Sure. Lets see how this patch will perform before we let the release the jury.

been averaging 2.7-3.00 base, before I was sub 2s and sometimes even at 1.4.. So the update did do something!

nah maybe you missed the point. Complaining about everyone getting butthurt about the i9 and crying over it, and making it a big f**** deal when we knew all along it was just a matter of a software/bug fix... but look at the threads, people literally cancelled their orders LMAO
Complaining was necessary to get Apple to recognize a problem.
No one "knew all along" that is was "just" a software fix. That is presumptive and based on wishes rather than facts.

We'll soon find out if this really fixes the issue. I presume it will. I can't imagine that Apple didn't try this before.

Cancelling the order for an expensive upgrade that performs worse than without the upgrade is smart. Otherwise just donate money to Apple, overpay for any purchases just cause.

Very hard to believe Apple could not detect it given the workflow that exposes it (very normal video exporting).

Its good its fixed supposedly, but Apple does not look good here. If they actually performed "extensive testing" and failed to use Adobe Premier Export... thats not a good look.

Even Microsoft did some tests on their surface, so I am sure Apple did their load test on MBP. But this is a software bug. A missing of a digital key. Possibly, they might have this digital key while doing load test.

I don't know if anyone has noticed but Apple has been pretty quick to rectify issues with software. (over the last few years) It seems each time they are quicker than the last. I really do feel they are listening to criticism. I personally know quite a few people who work at Apple headquarters and everything is so fast paced, each department is spread pretty thin. So although many would argue these issues shouldn't be there in the first place, it is what it is. The fact that Apple is quick to fix their issues is commendable in my opinion.

Wow. Apple admitting to a flaw in a timely manner!

Now... about the upgrade pricing.....

Lol I’m with you on the surprise and especially on the pricing especially with the USA dollar being so strong it should be normalized.

is everyone done bitching now? The smart people said it was a firmware or bug fix, which it was, but bangwagoners wanna jump on apple for everything :/

True yet you have to consider if you tubers find this along with an esteemed member of these forums ... why is it Apple missed something so crucial?!

Seriously? They had to do zero testing not to catch that.

I offe below and also Apple missed this one.

YouTuber pressure worked.

They affect buys

I’ll await revised benchmarks and tests before praising the heavens. I refuse to believe thermal throttling can be significantly resolved through software - it’s basic physics! I hope they’ve sorted it but I’ll be surprised.
You assume it was thermal throttling, while it seems to have been the power issues.

Right, Apple made this announcement just to throw people off their trail.

To be honest, I know for a fact that Apple put a lot of effort into their cooling systems. This 2016+ model was not their first go at it either. So I didn't really buy the idea that the computer design couldn't completely keep up with the heat.
