Nope, it's 'Gulf of Mexico (Gulf of America)' in the rest of the world. No biggie. An example from Europe: the city of Liège in Belgium is called Luttich in Germany and Luik in the Dutch speaking parts of the Benelux.

Are those different names or localized spellings, such as Lisbon, Lisboa, and Lissabon?

Serious now…I just checked on my Maps and it’s bizarre. If you zoom in close enough, it shows gulf of America. If you zoom out a bit, it changes back to Gulf of Mexico. Very bizarre
