My Android Wear device will have anywhere from 20-60% of its battery remaining when I plug it into the charger at the end of the day, after 15 hours of normal usage. The Apple Watch battery life quoted is similar. This should not be surprising since it will have similar display technology and size, similar (not identical, but similar) CPU, RAM and flash capacity, and will be interacting with the host device in a similar way. There is a limit to what can be done with the limitations of the form factor, need for connectivity and a readable display, etc. The daily recharge is not a bad thing, and it will charge to capacity in under an hour. I've never had to charge my Android Wear watch in the middle of the day, and I use it pretty extensively. Once it died on me but that was about a 19 hour day where I was using it heavily. I'm assuming the Apple Watch will perform at least as well.
