I know this info has to be on this thread but I can’t find it, if someone wants to sign up for the iPhone Upgrade Program this year, do they have to wait until the 27th? Or can they sign up ahead of time and be preapproved also?

this is why i upgraded to the 8 and not the X this time, the extra month (or months waiting for them to catch up with demand) The financing doesn't make sense if you keep it over the 12 months you have to. Ill upgrade hopefully to the Xs or whatever next septembers version will be.

No its not that thinking that can afford you one its the late 2011 MacBook pro that you are still rocking that does that!

And rock it does! It’s a beast with the upgrades.

Go Patriots! 28-3.

That’s too bad, seems like this would be a huge way for them to get more people to join.
I presume it’s to set precedent and give current members a little advantage and assuming it goes smoothly, allow for potential customers to be confident that it’s worth investing via the IUP approach

Wait a minute. The article didn't state specifically that it was just existing customers. If I were you, I'd call Apple tomorrow to see if you can get enrolled and get pre-approved so you can order using the IUP on the 27th. (otherwise, if you were to attempt to do so on the 27th, you may be looking at a pretty lengthy delay).

Hmm... I don't see any similar message or option either on the website or on the app, and I've been an Upgrade Program customer since 2015. Any other IUP customers not seeing this notification?

I’m selling mine myself. I will select upgrade program when ordering but there ain’t no way I’m giving my perfect 7 to Apple for $300 bucks.

I'm not seeing any notification and I am in the same boat.

If you need a loan to get a phone, maybe you shouldn't be getting it in the first place. I know I sound like an elitist or something, but still....

If you use credit cards for anything, you're a hypocrite for making that statement. What matters is if someone has the financial ability to pay it off, not if they need a loan.

All you have to do is buy the phone full price and then go into Apple and tell them you purchased it in full, but would like to do the iPhone Upgrade Program instead. Easy.

You can only enroll in the IUP by starting a new loan with a device that is already out. This option sounds great, but it doesn’t work that way.

This is the notice on the Apple website about the head start on the Upgrade Programme approval. It's not there on the UK website, so I'm guessing this isn't available to those of us in the UK.

If that's true, does that mean those of us in the UK won't be able to get the iPhone X for months, considering the reports about limited stock? If so, that'd be a despicable move from Apple.

It's the same here in the U.S. as of this morning. The option to get pre-approved for an X through the IUP in the Apple Store app isn't there yet.

It’s not the same here in the US. We have the notice in the app. In UK they do not even have the notice.

Incorrect. This MAY work, from time to time... but it is absolutely not recommended. You can bring your shiny new phone back to return it and the system can suddenly return it and resell it to someone els in the store and there isn’t a thing that can be done about it. It also may never put it back in saleable status and then you can’t buy it again. List goes on, not a good idea. Especially on launch day!
