Again never said the screen will be horrible looking just saying u down graded and u can tell yourself all u want to make it feel better

Understandable. We all know the iPad 3 is superior to the iPad Mini, so I'm not trying to justify my purchase because I could have easily kept my iPad 3. If I dislike the iPad Mini, I'll just return it, keep the money, and just save it.

Hm. I preordered a white one this morning... never went for the white version of any iGadget before but this time it felt like the natural choice.
Must be that damn piano duet ad manipulating me from my subconscious. Curse you, cute advertising, curse you back to the 7th layer of hell!

I got white for the first time as well. I wondered what made me do it. Also out of the blue I installed GarageBand on my "now limited edition" iPad 3rd Gen.
;)

Order in at 3:01AM. (Used the store app on the iPhone5.) Delivery Friday Nov 2. :):):)

Maybe it's a generational thing (although I'm 66). But I like seeing my hardware look like it's been used as heavily as I pushed it, taken to as many places as I've taken it, and not been treated like some delicate thing that has to be left at home in a drawer.. A lot of people get special satisfaction from a pair of jeans that shows the rigors they've traveled through or a flannel shirt that's been with them for decades. I don't get this keep-it-pristine approach to our technological products.

It's quite simple for me: resale.

Good question.. Add delivery time if these are coming directly from China (normally a week) we could be talking anywhere up-to 21st November....

We will have to wait till our orders are processed further for more info.

My delivery estimate is 15th Nov, so I guess that's 2 weeks from today, plus the 3-7 business days for standard shipping.

Dunno why mine is sooner?! Maybe they'll change.

Lol really?! Limited edition!

I take it you don't have kid and have never gone through one of this "I must have abc for chritmas" drama at home. When kids want something for Christmas or Bday, there is no substitute that can appease them. That is why you have fight in toy store around Christmas for the hottest toys. The stress is incredible and parent will just have to pay up and get those hot toys in black market.

LOL, talk about a whipped parent. Don't baby your kids, and buy them a $300+ toy for christmas. Really?! When I was a little kid, the most expensive thing my parents bought for me for christmas was maybe a N64...

Never got many of the "must haves".

Noooo. Maybe because I ordered the smart cover ? Now thinking of dropping it from the order.

Yep. Just did that and now it's showing as 15th November too... Yay saved a week ;)

Dear lord, this post is absolutely embarrassing.

If you don't actually work for Apple, you just double downed on being a douche.

I don't work for Apple. I don't own shares in Apple. I just love the great experiences they are creating for us consumers. I'm happy very happy they are being financially rewarded for their incredible products they build for us.

worst pre-order ever. pre-order started at 9am over here. got my order confirmation at 9:01

Delivers 20 Nov ...

I just can't get myself to order a tablet that's less powerful than my iPhone 5. Im prob going to save up some money and wait a month or so and get the iPad 4.

For me at least, I look at my gadget purchases as self-leases. When I get a replacement I sell what is being replaced. Jeans on the other hand, I give to charity when I'm done with them. The $5 I could get for my old jeans isn't worth the effort, nor do I need the $5.

If you've ever tried to sell a used product you know the better condition its in the more money you'll recoup. Every ding and scratch is money in the trash can.

apple has been so irritating lately. How hard is it to understand that people are going to buy the crap out of your product so actually build enough. iPhone still not available anywhere and now this will be the same story. Ridiculous.

Cellular provides the ability to get data – web browsing, stock prices, sports scores, your personal data from iCloud, for example – when you're outside a Wi-Fi area. Otherwise out of wi-fi = out of touch. It's not meant for placing phone calls.

Well, that depends. I have an original iPad with unlimited data plan from AT&T, and I use VOIP apps to make free calls ALL the time over both wifi AND cellular(when I am on the road and out of wifi range). Works great for me when making calls.

In fact, I just preordered one of the cellular iPad minis...because its so much more portable. I will transfer my unlimited data plan to the mini, and I will definitely be using it to make calls! Heck, it's like a BIG smartphone! Plus I gots big hands. :p

When demand outstrips supply Apple can run the production line 24/7 (and they do) and still not have enough. They can open up more factories (and Foxconn has) and still not have enough. Once you get your MBA these things will become more understandable to you. Real life is not as easy as SIM City.

I wonder why white is so popular now. Black used to be more popular not long ago.

Black is preferred by 73% of Apple's customers when it comes to the tablets.

I guess that is the reason Apple would automatically order more black minis to be produced?

There has been a fair amount of the discussion of color as it relates to new Apple products and which is now the most desired color in automobiles.

wow cool story bro. feel better?

perhaps you right, but isn't the comment "great story man" ironic enough?

Yes, but not clear to what ends. It could mock those who claim Apple intentionally under produced to get a fake sell out or it could mock Apple would claims a sell out.

How else do you get black looking aluminum?

That's the point - apparently people do not like black-looking aluminum. The Apple should let the aluminium color be true to itself. It loses the high-quality look when it becomes anodized (ex. What looks more regal, a black iPod classic with it's aluminum back, or the anodized iPod nanos?).

I'm showing delivery of 11/2 for all iPad Mini's (WiFi) on the Apple store right now. Did they magically find stock somewhere?

Seriously, though, why are people ordering this? The minute Schiller came out and basically said, "We can price it at what we want, cause we know you'll pay for it no matter what", everyone should have said F' You! I was considering ordering one, until I heard that. Their arrogance is becoming legendary, and everyone is just allowing them to do it.

Are you kidding me? The stress of a kid asking for a $329 gift? Wow, I thought I have seen it all on these forums. Would you actually get them a BMW if thats what they wanted for Christmas? You have to draw the line somewhere...

Same here. The black Minis show 11/2 delivery, while the white Minis show two weeks.
