Lol, 40% of the world's android users aren't even running an up to date version of android that's capable of playing these new "exclusive" games.

Oh, I'm sorry, "only" 34% are running completely antiquated versions of android. While only about 5% are running the newest version. That link doesn't complement android very well.

Why would anyone want to exclusively write games for android? Majority of android users would pirate it anyway. But I guess if google bribes you enough it's worth it.

Ah good, the good ol Mac Rumors commenting at it's best, rubbish the competition with slanderous comments with ideas and facts pulled out of bottoms!
With NO links what so ever provided to back those bottom induced claims up, love it :D

Android users don't buy anything. Doesn't make sense to cater to people who won't spend any money or will spend less money no matter what you try to sell them. Google is better to focus on getting the games later and for a cheaper price for consumers. App devs would be out of their minds to cater to a platform who's claim to fame is being the cheap option.

PPLLEEEAAASSSEEEE never ever look at the top 10 apps on the iOS store of the top 10 grossing apps, because it totally blows your comment into oblivion with the fact it's stuffed full of 'free' games! I'll do you a favour too and tell everyone I see with an Android device that they are a pikey because you say so, hmm does that include the endless You Tube channels where the owners have thousands of pounds worth of tech, but because they have an Android device too they must be pikey's and never spend any money on anything?

No links or facts? Pretty funny considering that someone defending android presented me with a link himself that actually totally proved my point on the top of this page. I didn't even need to provide a link. But you know that already because one of my comments that you quoted included actual statistics from that link I was provided with. Any way you slice the numbers, android still fails.

Yea except Jelly Bean isn't exactly antiquated and all the latest stuff will run on at least ICS. Keep on about stuff you apparently know nothing about.

How is android a failure and how are you figuring out whatever metrics to determine that. This article kind of goes against what you are stating... I mean Apple seems to be upping their efforts to combat the encroachment of the Play store. Also my link did not prove any of your points. See above, or you can just be a blind hater forever.

Your sig proposed a question, I have the answer.

"iPod Photo Cache" is where the resized versions of photos from your library are stored before they are synced to your iPhone, iPad, etc... The idea is that they only have to be resized once for each device, and they are stored there so that they don't have to be reconverted every time you sync.

You can delete the folder, but if you sync a lot of photos to your device the next sync will take a very long time because all the resized versions have to be regenerated. Sometimes if there are problems with syncing photos, you can fix them by deleting this folder..but just deleting it because it's there is not a great idea.

Hope I cleared that up for you and you can change to a better sig, like "Can Rarity's obsession with gems be considered a fetish?" ;)

You...I like you.

I once tried setting up a Heath Robinson concatenation of symlinks to get it to show up in the Cache folder instead, but either iTunes didn't like that very much or the photos didn't sync.

Also, yes. It probably would be wouldn't it? :p

Are you for real... Talk about pedantics.. So if I want to usr Google earth how much does it cost me...zilch.. if I want to do a Google search.. zilch.. if I want to watch a vid on YouTube.. zilch... So I've given Google zero pennies so remind me again how it isn't free... Please don't say they give my search options to advertisers...and.... How is that costing me money....?.

I never said google services cost you money, do try to read comments before posting a reply, i said you pay by google harvesting your data which is far more useful to google. Google makes its money from advertiser money so your data is very valuable to google you are the product. Do you think google makes its services free to its users out of the goodness of its heart lol.

Ive asked someone on another thread but strangly they never answered.

I have an LG G2 phone running Android Kit Kat. Please explain how Google make money out of me. Saying they "mine your data" isnt a good enough answer.

That's all irrelevant considering my original point was about free Google services and I was rebutted with I pay Google with my data... So the bottom line is that I don't pay a penny to Google and they don't charge anything. Are we all happy with that , or shall we get all pedantic about it for the 2nd time...

Leave it Dave, it's.not worth it.. some folk are so black and white.. if its not Apple its the devil.. So Google, ms, Samsung, all devil companies when discussing on a public forum.. but the same weak minded folk will secretly use YouTube, Google search, Xbox, all day long at home... Ifans give Apple a bad press, not Apple...

Something to do with your gobs of offshore cash!

Just buy Nintendo

Before Google does

Probably would be blocked in Japan, but really, their hardware is toast, but their game properties are packed with loyal fans. Wouldn't be too long before an Apple TV/iPod pair could surpass the Wii U & 3 DS as usable platforms for Nintendo intellectual property. iPod Touch about the price of a 3DS XL. Add value to Apple TV.

Mario & Pokémon & Kirby, etc. on Apple hardware would be killer. Super Smash Brothers on Apple TV? Oh my.

If they provide services for free that folk want in great numbers how is that a problem...

Let me guess tho that you would be more than fine with every man, woman and child the world over carrying a small mobile.device with a fruit on the back..

It says Facebook, but it applies to Google's "free" services as well.

funny-facebook-fails-oinkonomics.jpg

Does it also applies to Apple's "free" services?

Sort of, but most of the sales in Apple's case happen through iTunes or already purchased hardware so it doesn't really apply as readily as it does for Google/Facebook.

My original point was that you are paying with your data, a point you seam to compleatly miss. instead you have gone off on a stupid i dont pay a penny again i never said you pay with money you PAY WITH YOUR DATA so google services are not free. But i guess you will totally miss the point again.

Perhaps you should take off your google blinkers and research what data google collects and uses to make its money. Google mines your data there i said it now for the proof. To google you are the product.

Nope.

We are Google's users, but Google's paying customers are the advertisers, not the users. Free services are provided to users (us) in order to sell paid services to its customers (the advertisers).

Apple is quite different. Apple's users AND customers are the same people (us). Free services are provided to users (us) in order to sell hardware to its customers (us). In fact, advertisers are unhappy with how little user data Apple shares with them:

I use Gmail and I love it. But I am absolutely aware that I'm not Google's customer; I am the product they sell to their actual customers.

Did you try clicking on the link and reading i think not. try it you will learn something.;)

Did you read the OpP question? It seems that you didn't be a use your link dient have a heck to do with his question.

The one that has to learn is not me.

By the way, update the links, Google doesn't have access to Twitter since at least 2012

In fact the data Apple gives to advertisers it's exactly the same data Google gives to advertisers.

And no, with your explanation, the product is ad space, not the users. Or do you think that iAds product is the user or the ad space?

Can you provide proof that the data Apple gives to advertisers is exactly the same data as google gives to advertisers.

Many people blasted Apple users for buying into the Apple hype. However, Google users are no different. At least Apple does not make its users the product being sold.

So I am going to assume that the many on here never ever watch a free TV or sattelite channel then? Because they are supported by advertising. That is your argument you are using.

You are NOT the product with Google, all Google does is target adverts at you based on your likes and dislikes, it's how it get's it's revenue. You are the customer of the advertising companies.

Facebook is the one that uses your data, it will let potential employers scour your complete profile before you go for that job interview, something Google would never do.

And considering the amount of information various government departments will have on you all and the amount they monitor your every move 24/7, Google is but a baby in data collection.

And Apple will do the same, iADs... they are pushing it more because they want ad revenue, they want you to see adverts when you use your iOS devices.
