Apple is smart, people are going to rush out and purchase this new iPhone for the added space, and then when the iPhone 2 is released they are going to go out and buy that phone. Apple knows how to make profits.
ok..someone please explain to me...how do they charge $499 for the touch with 32Gb of NAND flash and charge a grand for 64GB flash memory for the air..????
i mean...the touch is still thinner!!!

I hate to spoil your joy but for 39.99 a month you can use your iphone with t-mobile versus 79.99 and add 9.99 for 1000 text versus 200. Now unlimited nites and weekends. No need for edge too slow it's frustrating so save your money about $30 bucks less a month that's $360 a year almost a new iphone per year![]()

On these forums, maybe, but in truth most Touch owners won't even know about this update. Have you been in an Apple store recently? People are buying iPods, and they choose the one they want, be it classic or touch, and I bet on hearing the "it can hold xxx songs," most still think "oh, I'll never fill that."
OR they're hoping to ditch the 8GB models, will drop the 16GB to $399, then release 32GB model with 3G for $499. People who paid $600 a year ago will burn Steve Jobs at the stake.
Agreed. I'll bet 3G comes out sooner than we think. You think August or June?
Very nice, but the iPod touch still fails to sync wirelessly. Even my mobile phone syncs wirelessly with my Mac, why on earth doesn't the iPod.
Not exactly modern technology is it.....
question: how many cell phones on the market come with 16 gb of memory built in for under $500?
answer: until today, none.![]()
October... with a price break in December and then hello 2009 announcements at MacWorld.
I'm hoping that by Christmas we'll have a 32GB 3G iPhone and that there'll be an official Apple iChat client that lets you use the data connection (either wifi or 3G) to connect to AIM instead of having to use text messages. Those are my requirements for getting an iPhone and I can't wait for it to happen.
hey, there are plenty of alternatives to using your text messages, for example, check out meebo.com. Now, cut the excuses and go spend your hard earned money![]()
If I drive 20 minutes east, I am out of the 3G coverage area. I'm still waiting for it since Atlanta has plenty of coverage, but EDGE is kinda like the dial-up of wireless data. It's not as fast, but it sure is in a lot more places.
Once 3G hits the iPhone, people will be complaining about the lack of WiMax for the 2 or 3 WiMax towers in the country that may or may not work.![]()
An iPod @ 32GB for FIVE-HUNDRED DOLLARS?
Holy bejeezus, Apple is making 250% profit, I'm sure, at least.
That price is just astronomical. I'll stick with my 16GB touch.
i'm getting my iphone in 9 days. does meebo.com work on the iphone?!?! that would be awesome if it does!
That's exactly what it's for, it's even formatted for the touch and the iphone. I use it every day, works like a charm. just point mobile safari there.
i'm glad the iPhone and touch are updated, but seriously the MBP needs to come out like now, and i know i'm whining, but i've been waiting for a while now and it's long overdue
fantastic. now i'm even more excited!!![]()
