Off Contract w. T-Mobile

Anyone know if it's possible to buy a phone off contract (listed as T-Mobile) and then replace a phone on AT&T? I'm not up for renewal till Nov. 2 and I don't want to reset to a new 2 year contract (and pay $250 or however much more than I would on November 2).

No optical image stabilisation on the iPhone 6! Apple you just lost it. Most of the people want to buy a phone, not a Phablet to get the fully featured camera. Samsung won this one, Apple. You took the bait. :(

That's not very many ppi for that big of a display. Anyone know what the color gamut is on the new ones?

He would be against this because Mr. Jobs would never allow Apple to put out a product that was garbage. He would rather end life the iPhone than sell these. Pick up a Lumia phone or a Samsung phone from LAST YEAR and you will know what we are talking about.

Sorry but you are going to have to elaborate on calling it garbage

Maybe. But I suspect your statement will be among those quoted in a couple years as completely misunderstanding a newly announced product and its potential.

You're probably right. Calling it a remote is an exaggeration for sure. I just don't see a majority of people needing one, but that doesn't mean they won't buy it or that it shouldn't exist.

Iphone 6-PLUS +64 here I come!! APPLE finally did it correctly this time--I cant imagine the millions and millions they are gonna sell lol---

Was my first thought too but the additional ram has been so ridiculously priced it is at least beneficial to those buyers making it little bit less over priced.

I think this will create more up sales and more margins for apple. But I am 100% with you. Having base models at 32gb is what they should have done. But paying 100 dollars to go from 16 to 64 is more enticing than 16 to 32 or 32 to 64.

You know why it's a d*ck move? With 16gb (minimum) you will be able to make an ENTIRE HOUR of 1080p video. HOUR!!!! in 2014! Isn't it silly?

Guys

In the interests of full disclosure I'm an Apple Fan; for sure; and I'll defo be buying the iPhone 6 with 128GB. BUT....

There seems a lot of haters here. People getting properly bent out of shape with such emotive language relating to what they would have different.

Isn't it simple.

Like it = buy it. Don't like it = take advantage of the free market economy and buy something different.

When I buy Apple I believe I'm buying tight integration and something that simply "works".... to this end; it'll do that well I suspect.

Design wise, they've had some misses and some hits; and before we put Jobs up as some form of Deity; he had his fair share of misses.

Choose what's best for you. Apple delivers a great product and if it all works for you it's great. Their service is outstanding and the time and effort put into every device stand out

I'm in for the 6. Because I evaluated it and it meets my needs , not because of bragging rights

seriously, Steve is turning over in his grave today. :(

I still can't get over the fact that for the first 30 minutes of the Keynote, the Chinese translators' voices were obscuring what was being said on stage. For that to happen for a full 30 minutes is really embarrassing for Apple.

I have to imagine that Steve would've flown off the handle at the production people in private after the event. I wonder if Tim did the same?

Steve Jobs was famous for not really caring about what his companies' customers wanted in a product. He especially disdained selling products that had features prominate on other devices on the market. He actually did say "Customers won't know what they want until we (meaning he) showed it to them." He believed the iPhone had the perfect size and proportions for a touch interface phone and would have never released a larger one regardless of how much "market analysis" indicated the consumer demand for it.

Dale

and a year later he would go completely back on his own word. the guy wasn't consistent, just extremely vocal. he was stubborn with his ideas until his peers convinced him otherwise; then Apple would make the new product that violated his previous ultimatums, and he'd be on stage, announcing it as it's number 1 fan.

help me guys... are there any detailed photos of the silver iphone?

im mean the silver color on the back might be the same as on macbooks... but what does the front look like? black? white?

the front is white; look at the front page of the iPhone 6 site. the one with silver sides and a white front is white. ( and it's not the gold one because it doesn't have gold sides.)

I may be the only one still happy with their 4S.
Will wait this out and see how it feels and read a boatload of reviews.
Not really interested in a bigger phone in my pocket.

I went from the 4s to the 5s and highly recommend it. Lighter, faster, Touch ID, and basically the same size. And, it just went down in price!

I'm not sure if I'm missing the sarcasm here

I don't think there was sarcasm; I think Apple will make NFC truly widespread and adopted, creating the demand that wasn't previously there.

Agreed on all points.

I'll be getting a black one eventually, just not until my contract is a bit longer in the tooth - and it will not be a 16 :)

I haven't seen the keynote yet but I like what I'm seeing and hearing overall, even if nothing else so far has caught me by surprise.

Disappointing that they didn't leave an option for people who like smaller phones. Based on android phones I've tried out in stores both of these are too big to use with one hand. Since they decided to have 2 sizes why couldn't they have left a 3rd smaller one?

Technically they left two smaller ones, the 5c and 5s.

AGREED!! While the 5S is there, its last years model. This sucks. Apple is a freaking hypocrite.

No number of hype can hide the fact that in design terms this is a huge fail. They are so incredibly ugly on the back.

Yeah, although the finished versions do look better than the early mockups did. Well, except for the gold one- that thing is still hideous.

I want a bigger screen, I want more pixels to fill that screen, I want a bigger battery, I want a faster processor, I'm okay with it doing Pay stuff...but why is it still only 8MP??

I don't need the 40+ from Nokia, or even the 20 from Sony, but even 12 would have been a nice improvement. But thank goodness the front camera now lets in more light. Oh and extra slo-mo. Other phones can do 4K.

It's not a deal breaker - I need a new phone, but still disappointed that the only practical change to the camera is that it sticks out more.

MP is not the be all and end all, especially with such a small lens.

It's like the MHz myth of old - just because a CPU has a higher clock speed doesn't necessarily mean it's actually faster (compare, AMD vs Intel CPUs, clock for clock).

As you increase the number of pixels in the the camera's sensors you eventually reach a limit where going higher just gets you more noise. Without the lens in front to back it up it's pretty pointless. What you can do, however, is improve the sensor itself, which is what has been happening steadily as these sorts of cameras have become the dominant way we all take pictures (non-professionally).

That's not to say there's no market for increasing the sensor elements, but you need the rest of the device to take advantage of it - primarily the optical components.
