We agree to disagree. I have a larger screen, it's called the iPad. And it works perfectly. But for a phone I want a phone and not something that tries to be a mini tablet.

Well then I guess you just won't have a phone anymore at some point because I predict larger screens are here to stay. If you like a 4" phone Apple still offers one. Why even worry about the iPhone 6 since clearly you have no interest at all in the product. You make it sound like the extra .7" of an inch has somehow made the iPhone into a HUGE new tablet.

My post in-between yours (#259) is an indication, in Euro's, so probably a bit less in Dollars.

Just saw a pic from someone's post indicating the 128GB 6 Plus would be 789 quid... That's like over $1200! Yikes!!

That's not very many ppi for that big of a display. Anyone know what the color gamut is on the new ones?

----------

.

Do you even know what you are talking about? The whole idea of PPI is to measure sharpness matter what size screen it is... So if it's 2, 4 or 20 inches, theses PPI's make them pretty damn beautiful !

On another note I'm a bit split by this. I love my 5S and don't really have a huge want for the bigger display at the moment. Love the 5S size, and don't have massive hands/pockets so will have to test it out.

Must say I'm a bit disappointed that the choice if the 4,7 inch would make it a lower end model choice... :(

Thank you for that fact-free, impossible-to-substantiate analysis.

The question is, will you stop with the lazy ad hominems when the 6/6 Plus phones generate more than half of all the smartphone profits in 2015?

No. No, of course you won't.

I don't really care how many phones Apple sells or their profit. Steve would not have allowed this design.

Delightful? Delicious? Decisive?

Poor children. If storage is a concern, spend the whopping $100 and get FOUR TIMES AS MUCH. For "most" people (read: NOT you, I get it...) 16GB is plenty, and it is proven year after year by something most people don't seem to grasp: SALES.

If sales were slouching, sure, increase it. But why damage profit margins on the single biggest revenue generator the company has (the 16GB iPhone)?

Maybe if they were the Red Cross.

Last I checked they were in this for the stockholder, not to give away things they don't have to for no reason.

Well it's a good thing there are people like you. Whatever would us children do without your guiding light?

I don't think I'm nearly as distraught about it as you think I am. I'm flattered you seem to care though. I have another word that starts with "D" for you.

This crap I'm reading of "Steve would had never allowed this! He's rolling over in his grave! I mean the back is ugly!"

You know you're talking about the same person who introduced us the iPhone 4, where everyone said the EXACT same thing before it was official? Or the guy who told us that we are holding our phones wrong? Or the guy that had to be convinced by the same people, who you are hating on right now too, the iPod needed to work on Windows as well as a mac. Or the same guy that had to be convinced by the same people, who again you are hating on right now, that the iPhone and now iOS needed to be open to 3rd Party Developers.

So please tell me how know what Jobs would have allowed or done? I'm very interested how you seem to know so much about him.

... will you stop ... when the 6/6 Plus phones generate more than half of all the smartphone profits in 2015?

You're probably dead right, but the 6 is a very uninspired design. I'm getting one cause mine is dying BUT I won't be running to the store to buy one.

Since I'm on an iPhone 5 I'll be happy with either if these.
Looking forward to it.

I started out with a 3gs and had that one two years.
Then I had a 4 and had that two years.
Now I have a 5 and I've had that one two years.

Perhaps it's time to upgrade then. The 64gb 6+ model would be the one I'd go for then. But on one hand I've been saying to my friends for years that "I don't want a bigger phone - I want a smaller one" but on the other hand I hardly use my iPhone as a phone anymore - I seem to use it mostly for being online, which (kinda) makes a bigger screen useful (even if it does take up more room in the pocket...which is what I hate).

Lucky for me I've already got two buyers lined up for my 5. The price is about half of the original price -which is also about what I paid for it. AND when I get the 6+ I'll get it for about half price. So the actual amount of money I'll actually spend will probably be around $200, $300 tops (it'll probably be about $1300 around here without a contract) - but then I'll have the latest phone of course.

There's just one thing....
I always tell people that "I'm not a Apple-disciple", but obviously I'm a bit conflicted - because why else would I consider spending money on a BIGGER phone when the one I already have works perfectly?

...sometimes I just don't understand myself.

Technically speaking you will save a couple bucks because the 64GB phone is $299, the same price the 32GB use to be. The 128GB is now the price that the old 64GB was at $399. :D

That 's true and I did take that into account. Disappointed is all. I'll survive :D

Let's not forget.

The legal print on the backside of the 'cnbeta' leaked iPhone was real.

Even the rumored name 'iPhone 6 Plus' was real.

I think it looks fine and will sell very well. One of my buddies who is a pretty hardcore Android guy said that this is the first iPhone that he would consider because of the Android sized screens and the overall phone style.

I still think my LG G3 has a nicer trimmer design then the 5.5" iPhone, but I guess I will have to handle one in person first before I can make a final judgement.

I don't really care how many phones Apple sells or their profit. Steve would not have allowed this design.

Steve Jobs once thought that computers should never have fans.

He was a clever guy but he wasn't some sort of prophet plenty of his ideas were wrong.

So instead of dropping 16GB and starting at 32GB, they keep 16GB drop 32GB and go right to 64GB.

D*** move.

Was my first thought too but the additional ram has been so ridiculously priced it is at least beneficial to those buyers making it little bit less over priced.

I think this will create more up sales and more margins for apple. But I am 100% with you. Having base models at 32gb is what they should have done. But paying 100 dollars to go from 16 to 64 is more enticing than 16 to 32 or 32 to 64.

Good grief

Guys

In the interests of full disclosure I'm an Apple Fan; for sure; and I'll defo be buying the iPhone 6 with 128GB. BUT....

There seems a lot of haters here. People getting properly bent out of shape with such emotive language relating to what they would have different.

Isn't it simple.

Like it = buy it. Don't like it = take advantage of the free market economy and buy something different.

When I buy Apple I believe I'm buying tight integration and something that simply "works".... to this end; it'll do that well I suspect.

Design wise, they've had some misses and some hits; and before we put Jobs up as some form of Deity; he had his fair share of misses.
