No number of hype can hide the fact that in design terms this is a huge fail. They are so incredibly ugly on the back.
What on earth made them think this look is a good idea?
They might be easy to use and have a lovely screen but ugly is ugly. No getting around it. The first ugly Apple product! Come back Steve!!!
So stunned even though we saw the leaks one kept hoping maybe, just maybe the rumours were wrong. But no. It is true. Apple is now ugly. I have no interest in the watch... That's for the fanboys who have to have everything. The watch looks pretty but what would one do with it that you can't do with your phone?
Perhaps time to think outside the apple...?

Not at all. This is the "free" phone that gets bundled with 2 year commitments. 8GB is perfect for that segment. It's not aimed at people that want Smart phones; it's aimed at converting people who come in looking for feature phones.

Actually there was a rumour on here not long ago saying there were production issues with the screens that were due to be used in the iPhone 6, causing apple to ditch the screens (which had thinner bezels) and as a result they had to ditch the sapphire screens too.

They will return for the 6S though.

yeah I saw that, and I think there was no truth to it. As for the 6s, a sapphire screen still won't make any more sense then as it would now. Big waste of money for too little of a benefit. I'm inclined to think a lot of those screen-test videos on youtube were fakes too.

Apple pissed off a lot of people today in a myriad of ways.

Samsung execs, google execs, Motorola execs, the execs.

These are the same post announcement whining fests that have existed since the iPhone. The original iPhone was turkey revolutionary in every way yet stooges were on here calling it the end of days for apple.

When the 6 and 6plus sell in ridiculous numbers, and apple ends up with huge 4th quarter profits who will be upset? Dummies who bought a moto 360 because they were tricked into thinking it was round?

He was a clever guy but he wasn't some sort of prophet plenty of his ideas were wrong.

Well, he was wrong in some points, but he was right that computers should never have fans. Fans are prone to noise and to fail with time. We're seeing a current trend towards computers with just a fan or even no fans, and it will be more radical in the future.

Seeing as how it requires the new custom security chip only invented for the iPhone 6/6+, there's no way to "enable" it to work with the 5S.

It's "enabled" by complementing the 5s (or even the 5) with an iWatch next year.

Yes, but they left no upgrade path without switching to one of the android makers that make a mini or compact version of their phones.

Well then I guess you just won't have a phone anymore at some point because I predict larger screens are here to stay. If you like a 4" phone Apple still offers one. Why even worry about the iPhone 6 since clearly you have no interest at all in the product. You make it sound like the extra .7" of an inch has somehow made the iPhone into a HUGE new tablet.

Have to draw the line in the sand somewhere or one way you'll end up with something the size of an iPad Mini up to your ear to make calls.

That's the point. In the past they were phones that did a ton of other cool stuff. Today they are larger and larger computers that just happen to maker calls too. A total reversal of how people see them. And their design has reflected this.
