I'm waiting for the keynote video to be available the live stream was so botched I missed most of the iPhone announcements. Really Apple? I had chinese translation going on over Tim cook and Schiller for the first 40 minutes.

Really, it's 2014 and Apple still sports an 8Gb base model? Fail.

A bump to 16GB would have impressed me more than -say- a free album of a band that hasn't been relevant for 25 years.

We all did. Someone has just been fired over there, unless it was sabotage.

Is it possible to be both impressed and disappointed at the same time? Because that's kinda how I feel about this...I'm sure it will be awesome and I will most likely buy one (will consider both models), but I feel that they could have done more this time around. I will of course reserve final judgment until I see it in person...

These phones are a few years too late and not very pretty either. I'm still waiting to see what's that unbelievable product pipeline has for us, because so far, it's not very impressive.

The 64GB 6+ looks like the device I'd want, but I'm a bit afraid the unsubsidized price is going to be too high to justify the purchase.

Are you serious Apple? How much will be an unsubsidized 64 GB iPhone 6+ in the rest of the world? 900 € ?

----------

What about the RAM? I strongly suspect the iPhone 6 to have just 1 GB while the iPhone 6+ will sports 2 GB ....

I’m sure I paid £629 for my 32GB 5S so I’m actually pleased that the 4.7” 64GB 6 is £619.

1334 x 750 and 1920 x 1080 displays added...

Not pumped about 2 more displays... I wonder if they will treat the 6 plus as an ipad model.

Not too bad but I wish we could stop developing for 3.5inch screens it would atleast make things a bit easier...

Bleh, no 4" option. I'll upgrade one day IFF ApplePay takes off OR my pants get bigger pockets.

P.S. Happy to see eBay stock down now that PayPal is threatened.

Has anyone else noticed that the 5.5 is only showing 4 rows of icons when 5 would easily fit, also on Apple's site it lets you compare what different apps look like on the 2 devices. Everything just gets bigger, there is no more content displayed than the 5s. Safari text and images just bigger, photo app just displays the photos bigger not more of them. Really hope this is a marketing mishap and not what the 6/6+ will actually be like, the whole point of more screen in more content.

I gotta admit when I compared specs here I was a little underwhelmed.
It seems the only differences are ppi number, the overall screen size and OIS.

They're approximately 16:9 just like before, so everything should be fine, right? The 3.5" screen is the only annoying one. (Coming from a semi-newbie iOS programmer.)

It should be 32gb standard, then 64gb & 128gb. 16gb is useless today. They know this. Wtf?

You realize the memory price got cheaper, right? The price you were paying yesterday for a 32 GB phone now gets you a 64GB phone.

But to your point, 16 GB isn't useless for many people. I store my music and photos in iCloud, so they take up no room on my device. Documents and data are stored there also.

Is anyone still getting the 4.7? I was until I saw the keynote. I mean,I didn't think they'd have so much separation between both models.

Disappointing that they didn't leave an option for people who like smaller phones. Based on android phones I've tried out in stores both of these are too big to use with one hand. Since they decided to have 2 sizes why couldn't they have left a 3rd smaller one?

you must be an amputee

From the iPhone 6 design page:

Designing a larger iPhone without making it feel bigger was no small task. It required challenging the idea of “big.” It called for narrowing when the natural inclination was to expand.

Challenging the idea of big. Uh huh. Apple's marketing team must have worked back late to come up with that one. Perhaps what they meant to say was, 'Caving to market pressure for a larger phone, but trying not to look like we caved to market pressure, was no small task.'
