crazy from the video the screen curves behind the display but it's inside the case. what's the point? why not have an infinity display.

The bezels are no narrower than they've always been. it's not an all screen display

Notch inside the screen is fine. But the top of the screen (on either side of the Notch) should be persistent status bar, black. Indistinguishable from being part of the Notch except that the info displayed is animated.

Why they didn't do this is beyond me.

Agreed, that's the best way to do it. Ive won't do that because he's mediocre designer without Steve Jobs standing over his shoulder.

FaceID glitch asside... Someone can hold your phone up to your face and unlock your phone without your consent. I'm not liking that. I suppose you could look away or close your eyes or something. They need to have a means of recognizing a face you make to invoke the phone to require a passcode.

I have to ask, exactly what situation is it that this happens?

I don't understand why the notch isn't part of a black full-width status bar, and videos/everything cuts off at that line..

It wouldn't be perfectly symmetrical in landscape mode, but it would be prettier.

I'm not convinced. I was hoping for new innovative features, but it just seems Apple is playing catch-up with the rest of the industry. Especially at those prices, it won't be affordable to many people. Seems like I'm going over to Android now after many years with iPhone.

Wrong! I'm an Apple fan neglected for years by Apple and the reality distortion marketing from Apple isn't working for me any more. Just comparing products by specs, possibilities and price. What's your excuse?

I would take an 8 over the X at the same price... the 8 looks like the best combination of the 7 and new features. The rest of the iPhone X features seem like a hot mess.

I haven't posted on this site for quite awhile, mostly due to the ignorance and immaturity of so many of the users here... and it's sad to see that it hasn't changed one bit.

For all of you who didn't get what actually happened; FaceID did NOT fail in the presentation. Just like TouchID, if you haven't used it for a few hours, then you have to unlock it with your Passcode. And that's exactly what happened in the demo (it even gave that message on the screen of the iPhone; that you must enter your passcode to use FaceID.) Always so much FUD here anytime a new Apple Product is released...

As for the Notch, yeah, I have mixed feelings about it, but I will actually wait until I can see it in person and have hands-on experience with it before making any judgments... you know, like a reasonable person.

Thanks, I didn't catch that. It's the sort of presentation bomb for which Steve Jobs would have prepared. Actually it's pretty remarkable that they missed that detail during practice runs.
