Wow Nilay Patel’s first look video at the Verge was quite positive. No mention of the camera bump. And little about the notch either. My guess is the notch is this years camera bump. Something people complain about but get used to and then don’t even think about it.
Lol, ugly is the new cute. Welcome to the Apple in 2017.

I can't see the iPhone X dropping $500-$600 next year. The iPhone 7 was only dropped $100 today. Also that gets real wonky if this is the iPhone X(10), and then next year they release a successor to the iPhone 8 named the iPhone 11 and an iPhone X successor with who knows what name. Marketing plays a huge role in what products get released, and I think Apple may have backed itself into a marketing corner here. My best guess is they'll probably drop the X to around $849 (only $50 more than the 8 Plus), and offer an iPhone X2 at $999 (and continue the pattern as X3, X4, etc.). But then I don't know how they handle the 4.7 and 5.5 models.

The $849/$999 is a strong possibility. They can keep the SE ( with 7 specs ) and keep the 8 model, while phasing out 6 and 6s

Samesungs facial recognition was fooled by photos by the first reviewers of the device lol

Just because you don't know a thing about the s8, doesnt mean we don't

The s8 has a setting to ensure a picture or video wont unlock the phone.

I don't like the notch but can see why it had to be there. Perhaps the iPhone XI or XII will find a way to put all the sensors behind the screen.

Same goes for the loss of Touch ID. I hope Apple work out a way to still include it under the display to complement Face ID.

Other than that, perfect.
do you really think they will go back to touch ID after they just changed the whole UI concept by removing the home button?

Don't be such an *ss.. it has the best screen ever, a new updated iOS, new hardware and dedicated GPU, ready for AR, and list goes on. Do you think it is worse then or do you always have to play with things first before getting an idea how it is positioned against its pre-decessor? Should be difficult to get a steady relationship then...

All iPhones have a dedicated GPU and anything beyond the iPhone 5s supports AR. As for best screen ever ... :D

Put black electrical tape on either side of notch to cover that part of screen. If it bothers you that much.
You’re missing something, and that’s my point. I don’t care that There’s extra screen. I think it’s cool. But a full video that goes edge to edge is having portion cut out.

They need to add some sort of artificial limit to how wide to draw images and videos so that nothing gets cut off.

My thoughts after watching the iPhone X presentation

  • Love the edge-to-edge screen, hate the notch at the top.
  • One of the main selling points of a $1,000 phone in a keynote should not be animated emojis.
  • I'll have to see how well FaceID works in the real world before deciding if I want to buy, so no preorder for me this year.
  • I love the wireless charging mat.
  • I'm confused on what gesture you use to access Notification Center and Today widgets while in app.
  • It will take some time to get used to the new gestures to do things like access Siri and multitasking, and I wonder how often those will be accidentally activated while doing other things on the phone.
  • The edge-to-edge display, better battery, and better camera are the main selling points for me for the over my current 128 GB iPhone 7, but I don't know if that is enough to warrant a $500 jump in pricing from a 128 GB 7 to a 256 GB iPhone X.
All in all, this might be the first iPhone upgrade in a while that I'll skip.

No just seems waste of time. Like I don't bother going to Samsung forum. Could care less what they offer as I won't buy it. Lot better entertainment option than Tim Cook. LOL

He doesn't get to see how ridiculous that is, like go to every Justin Bierberg concert and scream how **** he is....what a miserable mean...

They can, but my real point is I really can't see Apple not offering a brand new phone around the current price of the 8 ($700-$800). $850 is a good price for the X next year, but it really wouldn't be considered a flagship. I think for the time being Apple will need to continue to offer a "standard" iPhone with new specs around the $700-$800 price point and a "premium" one that would make up the X model line. How they actually execute that (who features they offer in each phone and how they market them) is going to be very interesting to see.

I'm sure Netflix will put it in a theater frame. Calm down bruh.

I have to say, I'm actually getting excited now. I just looked up the physical dimension of the new phone and they aren't that much larger than the smaller iPhone 6, 7, or 8.

iPhone X 5.65 inches (143.6 mm)

iPhone 8 Height5.45 inches (138.4 mm)

iPhone X Width2.79 inches (70.9 mm)

iPhone 8 Width2.65 inches (67.3 mm)

iPhone X Weight6.14 ounces (174 grams)

iPhone 8 Weight5.22 ounces (148 grams)
