How can you tell oled video improvements by watching replay on iPad with LCD display?

easy. my mac is plugged into my AMOLED Samsung TV. However difference is still noticeable on my mac so I'm not sure thats how it works. its not like trying to view 4K on 1080p display.

But in your case a $549 iPhone 7 or even a $449 6S will be leaps and bounds ahead of what you are already using. The question you have to ask yourself is "is the iPhone X worth $450 - $550 more?"

In my case it's more than worth it since I've not spent in an iPhone for many years. In getting the 256g X.

But my point was, modern software requires a lot of computing power, because even what may seem a simple messaging app from the surface it's actually doing much more than just processing text. It needs to handle a myriad of services it's integrated with in the background, all while running the ever growing iOS: the cameras, the sensors, the high definition screen, web cloud, third party apps, and so on. even emojis require some processing capabilities. All this is running at the same time, and each year new features are added and technoly is improved.

That is why we need more power every year because technology advances which requires more and more power. If you were to put the A11 processor in the iPhone 3G, it would make no sense and that would be unnecessary, but that's not the case of modern devices.

Put them on ignore; makes the forums a much more pleasant place to visit.

Amazing how much time and effort some folks are willing to spend trying to spread their negativity. I like to think they're paid to dump on Apple, rather than think they believe it's the most productive or enjoyable use of their limited time on this earth.
We need a macrumors negative forum. All those that want to could go their and gripe. Re-enforce each other's hatred or dislike for Apple. Let's see what could we name it? I know, Samsung forum.

Is there haptic feedback on the X? Without the virtual home button of the 7/7+, did haptic feedback also disappear?

That's NOT Edge to Edge. It's just another Bezel to Bezel display. Even Samsung managed to take the display all the way to the sides on the Galaxy S8. And the wireless charging is not wireless, it sits on a pad with a wire, stop calling it that! Super disappointed in Apple this time around.

Reality check... Samsung S8 still has bezels around the edge, they just designed it with a infinity display to make it less noticeable ( which is annoying as ****, always does things when i hold my phone ) no phone is "bezel-less" yet, come back in 10 years.

2, everyone prior to apple called it wireless charging. don't blame apple for purchasing the rights to the tech , blame the whole industry for its name.

Are there any videos of the space grey version ?
Fronts are same black. Once you put case on it back won't be seen anyways.

What would be cool, is a clear back so you can see inside.

So your tv has same dots per inch and super HP display?

I've upgraded with Apple every year. Yes, I'm one of "those" guys but I normally sell my old phone. I end up paying $100-200 out of pocket every year.

This year, I'm not sure if I am. Two things really got me with this announcement. First, the price point. Sorry, I would have to buy the 256gb model and that is way too much. I felt bad enough paying $949 for the 7+. Second, the delayed launch of the iphone X. I mean c'mon, why such a delay in applying technology that has been out for years?

The note 8 is looking mighty appealing right now. Especially since Best Buy is still offering $150 off for the pre-order.

Or just keep your phone for an extra year and save the $200.

Considering it's the same "Wireless Charging" being advertised everywhere else, it'd be more confusing to try to call it "on deck charging" or some crud like that. But as long as we are picking nits, where does the wire have to end before it is Wireless Charging in your opinion? In the wall of your home? On your street? At the local power distribution node? Where?

giving my TV is 4K.... Yes. even though this has nothing to do with anything lol

this, or the Moto E4 from Walmart for $39.99 with $2.69 unlock code from e-Bay?

*note: it's a joke

Also see Apple again has Qualcomm model that does both CDMA/GSM and Intel model that only does GSM.
So again have to wait for Sim free or don't have true unlocked phone.

Sim free could even be longer than past especially with X
Verizon phones are unlocked. Verizon phone = world phone. The only difference between Verizon and 'Sim free 'would be the 'Sim free' IMEI being in Sprint's whitelist database.

Tesla's true wireless charging from surrounding space. Now that's wireless.

But that's still wired to a power station that generates the power somewhere. See, a wire. ;)

Ignoring the other problems like the horrific inefficiency of Tesla's wireless power distribution method, I think we are nitpicking on "wireless power" too much here. Having a charging pad isn't ideal, but I'll take ~60-70% efficient versus the 45% efficient of in-room power coils, or the even lower efficiencies of Tesla's long-range approach.

Depends on how scratch resistant the glass on the backside is, but yeah, I'll probably end up with a case anyway.

I seriously drought your tv is 458 dots per inch. If it's just 21 inch then like 100 dots per inch. Fifty in tv less than 50 dot per inch.

i seriously don't understand what this has to do with anything, other than u trying to humiliate me and failing at it

The iPhone X is a nice phone but I was expecting at least 512GB for the top of the range model considering the iPad Pro has 512GB.
I think a 512GB version is possible next year if NAND supplies become less constrained (cheaper), either in the iPhone X or its successor. Surely by 2019 though, no?

Of course we are nitpicking. For some the charging pad will be a convenience. For others, like myself not worth the money to just plug it in. This is my favorite day, all the "Apple doomed, crowd is out in force."

I love how my jet black 7 Plus looks caseless. But the Apple leather case does two things I hate to give up. One, it allows setting phone down without camera bump causing it to rock. Two, the grip is so much better with the leather on edges. Glass is farirly scratch resistant. Better than the anodized aluminum.
