The new iPad "Pro"truding camera... Fail.
If Apple took inspiration from MR, the 9.7 inch iPad Pro would be 2" thick with 336 hours of battery life, likely the same A9X processor except for 32GB of RAM, 1 TB of storage, running either Android or Windows. All for $99.
Did I forget to mention that it has a 5K display?
Is it just me, or has MR forums filled up with concern trolls?
I was in until I saw the protruding camera lens on a device that is suppose to lay flag so you can use a pencil. Major design fail.
And sales tax varies from state to state and, at least in California, varies by location within the state.
I don't see this working out very well with a protruding camera and no case. Why, Apple, why???
I have bought the 12,9" Pro and I still believe it's the better choice.
The keyboard is bigger, more space to write with the Pencil, larger batteries.
Your handwriting takes space and the RGB display backlight will be standard even for MacBooks in June.

This is exactly my feeling as well. It has every feature I want but I don't use a case with my iPad (and I really tried to find a case I liked too. I hate them all). I'm looking at my current iPad Air right now right next to my old nexus 5 (which has a protruding camera) Whenever I touch the the nexus it rocks. Not a big deal on a phone but a huge annoyance on a large tablet. And all for a camera that really how many people need to be THAT good?!
PC replacement? They must be drugging the water if they expect anyone to buy that statement.
Why would you let your iPad Air be a dust collector? What a waste for such a good product.
Yeah, I got screwed on iPad 3, but I'm solidly in the "Shut up and take my money" boat on this one. I've been dying to try Pencil and wanting stereo speakers without the insane screen size. The 256gb is just icing on the cake. I haven't updated my iPad since my 3 and keeping lightening and old cables around is a pain. I'm thrilled. I also want an iPhone SE. And a new watch band.
The price!! So let's change the name from iPad Air 3 to iPad pro 9'7" and add 250€ increase on the way. So disappointed. I guess there's no more iPad order for me

Not that i'm surprise as we know Apple but still I wasn't expecting this neither...It has nothing to do with evolving technology given that all the tech already existed on the iPhone when they announced the 12.9" Pro. It's planned obsolescence and holding back features for the next update. They could easily have announced a 256GB 12.9" iPad Pro last year, they chose not to, just as they could easily have put the iPhone 6S' rear 12mp camera and 5mp front camera into the 12.9" Pro at launch, but have held off on those "features" as well, so they can announce them as amazing, new, revolutionary upgrades later this year when they announce the next 12.9" iPad Pro.
As an owner of a 128GB 12.9" iPad Pro who wished a larger option were available when I bought, I am very disappointed to see this being offered less than six months later.
Wah... Somebody please get this sad face a soft blanky. Stat! And, maybe some perspective about how companies update their products as technology marches forward.
This is going to be that hilarious iPad people look back on like the puck mouse and go "oh yeah, remember it had Pencil support and a protruding camera so you couldn't actually use the Pencil on it properly! lol!"
