I was expecting a little less for the 128 GB but time to upgrade the 3rd gen... Hopefully I won't get ****ed like when I bought the 3rd gen and 3 days later (well months but you get the idea) the 4th gen was released.
Oh and $100 for the Apple pencil. Expensive as hell but the praise it gets well...

As for the $180 smart keyboard no thanks, I'll stick to my $10 monoprice smart cover with plugable foldable keyboard.

kb is only 140 but still! I was about to sell my macbook air and get a new iPad at 599 but after the pencil and kb you are looking at like 800$. No thanks.

What a load of crap for 13" buyers. My god. 1.2MP front camera on that honker and then now a 5MP AND iPhone 6S camera on the back. What a load of crap and way to shaft buyers who shelled out for a 128LTE model without BAND 12 support

Ah the sad lament of the early adopter.

F-You Apple.

Technology evolves.

I need a replacement for my iPad 3 but the $100 price increase has turned me off. I'll just wait now to see what the 12.9" iPad Pro 2 has to offer... hopefully not a camera bump.

Apple really is showing that it's out of touch with consumers. iPad sales are on a decline and yet they raise the price.

Ouch.

During the intro video you can see what the LTE model looks like. It's not a black or white square cutout anymore, it just a thin outline. You can see it when a woman is using the rose gold model, I don't remember when but its there.

I just bought a pencil in anticipation of buying this thing in a few days. I will likely hold off on the smart keyboard though because I will likely rarely use it. I have become accustomed to typing on the pad itself and with the predictive typing, it is decently easy to type short responses by email or forum posts. :) Now I have to search for a case that holds the pen (grumble).

An ipad will always be an ipad. It will never be a laptop or pc replacement. Who is Apple trying to convince here?

My ipad air 2 is currently collecting dust on my shelf because of the 12in macbook. I don't ever use the ipad anymore
Just because it doesn't work for your main computing device doesn't mean that it won't work for many people. Since purchasing my pro last fall I haven't used my MacBook Pro more than twice. If you give it a few weeks and learn your workflow it can be far less frustrating to use unless you need specific software that doesn't exist on iOS. That still isn't a fault of the iPad, that's a fault of it being so new to serious computing and developers haven't had enough time to catch up. I'd say that for a solid half of the MacBook using population an iPad Pro could seriously replace it. It certainly has for me.

I really like this 9,7 inch iPad Pro but in Germany ist starts at 689€ for 32GB the model which i prefer with 128GB is at 869€ which is to expensive in my opinion, the additional keyboard is another 169€. Earlier this day i thought this would be the sweet spot for a device i could use for the university but right now i think the 12" macbook ist the best choice it's on sale for around 1000€ right now.

How can it be the ultimate PC replacement if I can't run Quickbooks to serve my clients? Silly Apple.

This. I sold my Air 2 because it just sat around. It came in handy for quick surfing, but using it as a productivity tool, NOPE.

Now they raised the price of the newest iPad. Lame.

I'm sorry for the double post. I just don't get Apple. Why do we only get the Smart Keyboard with the US Layout in Germany? Haven't they learned from the iPad Pro Smart Keyboard? And the Camera bump is an epic fail. And I don't say anything about the prices. I think I get a better "PC replacement" with a Surface Pro 4.

So this is the Apple Surface eh? As long as they continute to update the Air line, I don't really have a problem. But chances are they wont, so they just handed a fat s*** sandwich to loyal customers. Another example of Apple telling YOU want you want. I don't want a pencil or stereo speakers on both ends or a stinking flash in my ipad. I certainly don't want to pay for those features that I wont use. But alas, Apple has decided you can go sniff skunk hiney if you don't like it.

They are scaring the $#!+ out of me with their continued "pc-replacemnt" language. I hope this isn't code for "we're not going to make Macs anymore." I'm dying for a MacPro worthy of the name. I love my iPads, especially the iPad Pro, but I really need a high-end desktop workstation to run Photoshop, Maya, Dreamweaver, etc. Not to mention the capabilities to do high-end video and music editing. Apple is truly forcing the creatives to switch to Windows to create content for their excellent smart devices.

I've got to think that even, if not especially, within Apple, the designers are clamoring for some strong hardware to design the interfaces, products, find-and-replace text in huge blocks of code, make the cool videos etc.

Did I mention managing several thousands of RAW photos in Lightroom? Since Apple hung us out to dry with Aperture...
