The design looks nice, but the use of a physical knob seems surprisingly dated for an AirPods product. The other products in the line have been more modern, so I would've expected touch controls like the top of the HomePod.

Folks here obviously aren’t familiar with the headphone marketplace. These aren’t out of line with other audiophile lineups. Whether or not they can keep pace in their price range is the question that needs to be answered.
The more I’m thinking about it my guess is they will actually sound very good. The HomePod sounds very good. But the question is what’s the market? How many audiophiles use wireless cans? And how many would be willing to give Apple a shot over trusted brands that have been in this business for a long time? Honestly if Apple is really serious about high end audio I wish they’d get in the sound bar game. I’d buy a really good sound bar/subwoofer from Apple if the price wasn’t obscene.

These look great and the price is about what I would except. The only downside is them using lightning instead of USB-C.

I'm in!

Couldn't check out via Safari on macOS ("Your bag is empty"), but I was able to buy via iOS app. I added AC+ as well. There's a decent chance I might accidentally sit on them :)

As mentioned above, the price definitely in line for high-end headphones. Take a look at the build quality of most $500-$1000 "audiophile" headphones... these are going to be on another level.

Or something... It looks ridiculous! What protects the mesh 'canopy'? If this were April 1st, I'd call it a joke.

So when the battery no longer holds a charge do these become as worthless as my first generation AirPods? And no professional is going to use Bluetooth headphones, especially if they have “computational audio” it’s clear that these are meant for the iJustine YouTube influencer market dummy’s.
