Seems annoying to carry with you, was hoping they would fold in more.

They look (and probably sound) great tho, can't wait to pick them up although I'll probably wait a couple months.

Does anyone think there is a non-zero chance that either the digital crown or the other button can act as a Mute button if pressed?

Not having a mute button on a headset in the current WFH environment is a serious flaw IMO.
press the digital crown and you pause

The price point is a total deal breaker for 99% of the marketplace.

Unless it cures 'Rona, Brings peace between the Rebellion & the Galactic Empire, plays 8 track tapes, and believes in the theory of Atlantis.

It ain't gonna sell. Not for that price.

550$ wait what? For a headphone? WAIT WHAT !?
if it's a decent one, yes, why not? A lot of people have forgotten what good soundquality is (eventhough it's subjective) , you can play music from a smartspeaker, but also with a hifi of tens of thousands of pounds, you'll notice the difference, is it worth it to you, that's another (subjective) matter...

Well they're been priced closer to audiophile territory (in fact audiophile phones go well into 4-digit pricing) than mass market, so it'll be interesting to see how ubiquitous these become. Apple will either stretch the 'premium non-audiophile' segment currently occupied by the $350-400 guys, or find themselves in a not so popular niche.

All that said, if the audio quality is truly comparable to the audiophile stuff, Apple may have just torpedoed the audiophile market.

Honestly, I don’t really care about the price, because I wasn’t really planning on buying these in the first place.
What concerns me more is there’s so many features that were rumored to come to these, that just aren’t there.
Custom equalizer settings, USB-C with wired compatibility, so you didn’t have to use them as wireless headphones, automatic ear detection, so you didn’t have to figure out which one was left and which one was right, and a couple other things that don’t seem to be mentioned anywhere on this tech specs page. It’s kind of sad
Also, the name Max is stupid. Stop using it Apple, please.
Plus, Studio, and Pro all dound better than Max.

Without a full case, that 'canopy' isn't going to last through TSA lines and hustling between gates. It must be made for those that have private planes, and can avoid TSA, and running. They are priced at that level too.

Yikes...

Apple releases a 60k 'pro' computer' 1k mounts, .8k wheels. What's the perfect accessory? $560 headphones with a bra case and no protection. Apple isn't 'for the rest of us' anymore. That ended long ago apparently.

I brought them to play with but will return for that price let’s see how they sound

They look painful. Angled in at the bottom quite a bit, too much space at the top. Like the ear parts don't pivot, or pivot enough. Very true they have got greedy at prices

Let's be frank. Apple tried that with the HomePod and well...
