So is Beats 1 literally one radio station? Or will they have multiple stations - like for different genres?

Since you might not have been paying attention, yes, they want you to pay $10 a month for the radio in your car.

You get FM radio, and you even get AM radio. No data connection necessary. You just use the antenna that's part of your car. Here's the one more thing: you get to listen to all the songs and talk shows broadcasted over the airwaves, 24/7!

Have you listened to radio lately? It's the same 20 songs in rotation every 2 hours with a few random songs thrown in to break it up. There's only 2-3 stations I would even listen to where I live and nothing but talking in the morning when all I want is to listen to music.

No thanks. Terrestrial radio is dead.

Yes, please help me.
They happily announced the price but never told me what I get for it?
Pharell tweets?
Can I pick any song I want at any time?
Can I skip over stuff I don't like.
Is the entire iTunes library included?

Save your curated playlist for bullet points at the end and tell me what it really is.

Is iTunes Match going away?

$10 for Radio? I think Tidal just fell off their chairs laughing.
It's not radio, aren't you paying attention? It's on demand streaming + radio, learn to read!

As a non-music buyer and one who only listens to the radio, I am bit perplexed by so many people saying this is too expensive. For $10 a month you have thousands of songs available to you ... in the old days, it was $16.99+ just to buy a CD with maybe 10 songs. The artists and their companies, agents, studios, etc. do have to get paid and make some money, correct? I'm not sure how this even works out to be a good deal for the artists but I guess it does. To those who are more informed, would be grateful for more info or explanation on this...

Agreed. Too many ads. Not enough music

That entire presentation on Apple Music left me with more questions than when I started!

1) Is the beats one station free or part of the payed subscription?

2) Why would I need to go to iTunes and purchase music if I am paying a monthly subscription to listen to the iTunes catalog?

3) Will the entire catelog be included or just part of it, (like spotify, some tracks/artists aren't included)?

4) Why is there no ad supported, free plan like Spotify?

5) Why only US pricing? Is it "available in over 100 countries" or not?

It was very unclear...

To me the most suprising/unexpected thing about "Apple Music" is the fact Apple has decided to make it available to Android users... Never thought I'd see the day

So basically a separate service how nice leave the iTunes Match customers hanging not going to sign up to Apple Music can get my music still for free if I wanted to.

really amazing
1 year in the process
3 billion for beats ( any kickbacks on an account in switzerland maybe ? )
and an average service that already exists in many brands

they will succeed anyways considering their brand and consumer base
they just had to sign up major labels , so why this 3 billion ?
if i were Bill Hackman i would really inquire into this
where is the 3 billion dollar valu for beats acquisition to share holders ?

Just because you have "millions of songs available to you" doesn't make it cheap, as you can't possible listen to all those songs. If you calculate this on a how many listens per month cost, you'd see $9.99 is quite expensive. The streaming business is a ripoff, and that's why the industry seems to be pushing it so hard (why are there 8-9 streaming services when there were only 3-4 download only music stores)?

Can I play any song I like?
Can I make a "radio" from any song I like?
Can I pick any song to listen to?
Is the entire iTunes music server available to me?
Can I skip as many songs as I like?
Is there an download/offline feature?
What happens to iTunes Match? Still $25 a year on top of the $9.99 a month?
Why would I ditch Spotify?
Is there a student discount?

So many unanswered questions!

It's incredible what the power of reading can do for you.

The following is from Apple Music FAQ. Could some one please explain how "iTunes Match is complimentary to Apple Music"? To me, it seems Apple Music subscription would make iTunes Match subscription redundant.

How does Apple Music know what songs are in my personal library?

With an Apple Music membership, your entire library lives in iCloud. We compare every track in your collection to the Apple Music library to see if we have a copy. If we do, you can automatically listen to it straight from the cloud. If you have music that’s not in our catalog, we upload those songs from iTunes on your Mac or PC. It’s all in iCloud, so it won’t take up any space on your devices.

Does Apple Music work with iTunes Match?
Yes. Apple Music and iTunes Match are independent but complementary.
