Well, I was waiting on the phone for the Apple Support person to come on, and I thought “eh, lemme try one more time”.

Suddenly I was able to add my iPhone and iPad haha Go figure.

I did confirm with the representative that the old plans are cancelled and customers receive prorated refunds for whatever portion of the original AppleCare that is unused.

Have you had any better luck with your devices?
Yep it worked - like 15 mins ago - got it to add my iPhone successfully. And my Apple Studio display shows now too :D

I noticed that the subscription covers only three incidents total per year of theft and loss. This compares with two per year per device when purchased separately.

It might make sense to switch to an individual plan for Apple Watch or lower cost iPad devices you think you might lose three devices at one time.

I'd hate to lose T&L protection on my iPhone for a year if I was unfortunate enough to lose three devices at the same time.

I am a happy camper. I'm terrible at math, but if I did the math right, I'm saving $16/mo est over the annual plans. :D

As far as I can tell:

It's vaguely worth it if you have multiple devices on a monthly AppleCare+ plan, at which point today you're being overcharged if you leave it be. This allows you to consolidate devices into a package deal.

Also, if you have devices released within the last 4 years that missed out on the AppleCare+ deadline and are still in good shape, you can put them on the AppleCare One plan as one of your initial three devices, or an additional one.

It's not worth it if you've already prepaid a year or so's worth of AppleCare+ coverage on a device, which they will refund you at a prorated amount and ultimately lump you into a subscription plan where you'll end up paying more.

I wish it would have told me the MBP refurb wasn't eligible before I upgraded, otherwise I wouldn't have signed up. But I ended up adding my iMac to fill the 3rd spot which is fine, at least the gift card will cover the first four months and if I get devices in the future I can add them.

Yeah I think this is going to end up to be a net win for Apple cost wise for most people. I don't think they would have gone to this effort unless it was the case.

However, for me...

16’ MacBook Pro Annual: $149.99/year
13’ MacBook Air Annual: $69.99/year
15 Pro Max iPhone Annual: $139.99/year (Theft and Loss)

So that’s $359.97 a year or $29.9975 a month.

This AppleCare+ One plan is $20 - a $9.9975/mo savings or $119.97 a year.

--------------------------------------------------------

My friend's setup:

16' Macbook Pro: $149.99/year
iPhone 15 Pro Max Annual: $139.99/year
Apple Studio Display Annual: $49.99/year

That is $339.97 a year for AppleCare+. Or $28.331/mo.

Vs $20/mo - he'd save $8.331/mo or almost $99.97 a year.

My savings was relatively small but I still think the change justified:

iPhone - was $269 for 24 months = $11.21 /month
Apple Watch Ultra 2 - $4.99 / month
iPad Pro - $5.99 /month

Total - $22.19

So I'm saving just $2.20 a month, but for me, the added benefit of T & L on the iPad, and especially the watch, is a non-tangible.

Yeah I'm going to be signing my wife up for this when she gets home from work. She's got an iPhone, AW, and an iPad Pro so it'll be just like your math. Thank you for that :D

Yeah adding theft and loss on all 3 of those (in the case for my wife) is going to be a big difference.

This is actually impressive ( at least for me! ).. Was paying $9.99+tax for my 15PM anyway, so proceeded to add 2 more devices that had their coverage expired for another $9.99 , once of which is a rather expensive computer :)

Similar here. It's a slightly better deal. I'm just wondering if it will be a PITA to cancel current AC agreements and put everything on the new plan. Would save me about $50 over the next year.

iMac M4 - $5.00 / month ($60/year)
MacBook Air M4 - $5.83 / month ($70/year)
iPhone 15 Pro - $13.49 / month

total $24.32

Signing up for Apple Care One will automatically cancel existing agreements. I've already gotten a pro-rated refund on my 2 year iPhone AC+. I'm still waiting to see if I get any refund on the partial months on the iPad and watch.

Mine comes out to be pretty much even since I just added my iMac because I had an empty slot. The 15 Pro and M4 iPad Pro with T&L is a dollar or so more than the $20, so even though I paid up front, it's still a small savings and it includes additional coverage. And basically the iMac is covered for free, not that I expect anything will happen to it since it stays on a desk in the loft.

Mine came separately, and I believe it was a partial month included. I had the AC+ bundled with my Apple Card financing for my phone and I got that about 30 minutes after the refund for the iPad Pro AC+ I paid for in its entirety when I bought it.

My experience: I saw the info about Apple Care One and checked to see if my devices were eligible. Happily yes. My MBA and iPad Pro had prepaid AC plans, but my iPhone has never had AC and I kind of regretted that. It took several tries to get the transaction to go through. I think the servers are overloaded. But it finally worked and I was able to add all 3 devices. Plus I believe the coverage is better now for the iPad? I just checked and I received 2 Apple gift cards for the refunds. I guess I wish those had been refunded back to my CC, but oh well. I'm happy that my phone is now covered and that all devices are on the same plan so I don't have to worry about the expiration date. My MBA's AC was going to expire in December and I was worried I would forget to transition over to monthly payments for that. So I am happy about this except I wish they would make it a family account because now I have to decide if I should do a separate account for other family devices.

I successfully moved my Vision Pro and 16" MacBook Pro from annual plans to AppleCare One. Saving about $13/month compared to the annual plans ($250 + $150 = $400).

Question: I received emails confirming the cancellations of my annual plans, but haven't seen anything about refunds yet. How long does it typically take for refunds to process? Do refunds go back to your original payment method or are they issued as Apple gift cards?

I upgraded my iPhone, iPad and MacBook to AppleCare One.

All were fixed term purchases.

I got a prorated gift card refund from my iPhone, and iPad. I do not expect to get a refund for my MacBook as I had some service done and there were only three days left until it expired.

Last week I purchased the AppleCare+ with the iPad from an authorized retailer, and the gift card amount appears to be the regular retail price of coverage instead of the (discounted) amount paid. Based on the terms and conditions, I thought I would have had to return AppleCare to the retailer for a refund.

It took about an hour to get the refunds and they are in the form of Apple gift cards.

Well that's not a good sign. I activated AppleCare One over 3 hours ago and I still don't have refunds. I guess I should contact Apple.
So I'm guessing they'll be refunded to the original purchase methods. I haven't gotten my main one yet either. I expect it in the next 3-5 business days. I did get Apple Gift cards for my Watch and iPhone switchovers (tiny amounts). But either of my MacBooks - one of which I renewed recently ($149.99) - I haven't gotten yet. I expect those will come as a refund to my Apple Credit Card.

If you find anything out - definitely interested.
