For business devices this is a great deal. My works lets me buy my own apple stuff and then get reimbursed. This means now I have 3 devices all under apple care and I dont need to worry about their status. The downside for apple...I might upgrade my devices less often.

I should probably stop wasting my money on it.
Yes, place your money where they can grow instead.
But I bet this will be a great income for Apple 😉

I have signed up for Apple Care+ with new Mac's always, for the convenience.
The only time I had help of it was when Apple’s delivery went somewhere else with my ASD.
So I called Apple and they found the lost driver and corrected him to the right place 😂

I demanded to get connected higher level from start to the 1st who took my call
I got through to a woman high enough in their food-chain who fixed the problem very fast.
Doubt that would’ve happened so easily without AC+
Never ever have I myself caused any damage to any of my Apple-devices.

I like to have AC+ in the beginning with expensive purchases from Apple, but when the new device get’s into your work slow, things just moves on.

So 1 year AC+ would fit me!

Generally AC+ subscription today for me is - NO - unless I can unsubscribe when I want without issues.
My own home-insurance will cover most things. - and Apple devices are only worth something in the beginning. They loose value pretty quickly.

Until that logic board fails on your $4,000 MacBook Pro!

If you're spending that much on a Mac, get a personal article policy via your regular insurance provider. They are much more reasonable.

$1800 is the most I've ever spent on a computer, from Apple or otherwise and for that price, if it dies, I'll just pay for a new MacBook and be on my way.

Wooo, it's time to GET STOKED for the ALL NEW AppleCare One. This is the biggest advancement to the best-in-class AppleCare since Apple introduced AppleCare+. Now you can add all of your devices to a single AppleCare plan, making AppleCare One is truly a game changer. But Apple didn't stop there. Apple is taking things to a whole new level. For the first time EVER, Theft and Loss protection is now available for iPad and Apple Watch. AppleCare One is truly the AppleCare for ultra pros!

Since these are tied to the same account, I feel there's only certain product combinations that make this worth it. They show the HomePod mini and Apple TV, but why am I going to (basically) pay $6-7/mo to cover my $100-$150 device? Or my home which has a dozen or so HomePod minis, I don't want to spend $80/mo to have them all covered. They really need a better "unlimited" plan, even if it's device category specific - like a Smart Home plan that covers all HomePods and Apple TVs.
Someone with that many devices would absolutely be better served home insurance. Unless, of course, all those devices are crammed in one room of a studio apartment.

Hm, Apartment insurance would still be better than this and cover non-Apple things.

I doubt that will happen. Instead, the odds are probably 1 out of 10 subscribers will actually use it, that leaves 9 subscriptions being pure profit.
I’m actually curious what the percentage of subscribers that actually use AC is. I don’t think Apple releases those numbers. I’ve had other additional/extended warranties, including a couple from HP and never used one of them.

This is actually great for the price, especially considering it includes all Apple devices. It would be cool if they could further combine it with the Apple One services bundle and just charge like a flat $50 per month.

The biggest aspect of this for me is that I can add my MacBook Air to AppleCare (I had forgotten to add it before). Consolidated Apple Watch, iPhone and MacBook coverage is $19.99, comparable to what I pay without the MacBook coverage. Seems like a no-brainer to me.

$240/year, $500 two years. $1k every four. How often do people really need repairs? Wouldn’t it be cheaper to finance a repair when you need it?

and then watch your premiums rise next time you renew.

So? That is how insurance sometimes work. It's still probably lower than AppleCare.

Meanwhile, we did a $40k-ish homeowners claim on our house and barn roofs a couple years ago. Premium is the same now as it was before the claim. Shop around and pick your companies wisely.

I figured with the family plans, just frustrating that this does not apply for that.

My iPhone 15 Pro Max 512GB is $9.99 a month right now without Theft and Loss. I understand that the “from” prices are referring to base models. But I guess that is where my confusion comes from, as that is clearly not a “from” device 😅.

I guess that if the MacBook Pro ends up being $9.99+ to insure, then it makes sense to do the One and get my Apple Watch for “free.” I will have to see tomorrow when the prices are easier to understand.
Delete--I misread your post.

Sure they could and from a strictly customer service view maybe should, but that's not how companies run.

That’s what I would expect from a company that constantly boast moral, ethical values. At some point, they can’t have it both ways. Either it’s PR BS and they own it or it’s not and they act.

On a scale from naive to naiver, where am I? 😂

Basically, the value of AC One comes when attached to higher price hardware. It's quite a basic principle.. If you would purchase AC+ for three devices and the a la carte pricing exceeds the AC One pricing, you'll save money for the same coverage.

Individual AC+ will continue to be available and itself is still optional. If you don't find any value, monetarily or otherwise, don't get it.

I don't understand the uproar for this new program as all it really offers is a chance for some AC+ users to save some money. AC+ is an optional additional cost. This isn't affecting the price of your hardware.
