Apple Announces August 28th Availability of Snow Leopard

QUESTION - What time at retail Apple stores?
I haven't seen this information. Tomorrow, Friday August 28, will the Apple stores be selling SL when they open, or at 6pm ala Leopard?

Tomorrow morning as soon as they open. The same goes for third-party resellers as long as their FedEx shipments arrive on time.
i just got off with someone from the apple store chat with an enquiry into why the expected delivery date is 2nd september.
response is "Due to an overwhelming response, your shipment has been delayed. Apple is working to ensure your package is shipped as soon as possible. Please continue to check your online order status page for more details."
sounds like a generic response. i was under the impression if we ordered before the 26th we would receive SL tomorrow. am i wrong?

Urgh! My tracking is saying that it is still in Singapore... Very slim chance I'll get my upgrade for Friday here in Thailand!
is there a need to be rude? i just wanted to know if we (uk) were promised delivery tomorrow if the ordered was placed before yesterday.
You gotta click on a product, then on the left side where it says "Apple Store" and "1800-4APPLE" there should be a link next to the phone number that says chat.
I just got my shipment notification. Its coming via FedEx Express Overnight to be delivered on Aug 28th.

It actually has already been picked up by FedEx Express. Looks like Apple is smart. They shipped Snow Leopard from Memphis TN which is where ALL FedEx Express Shipments actually fly into before being flown to their destination facilities. So instead of 2 flights (origin to Memphis, memphis to destination) instead they have been picked up by an Express Driver locally in Memphis and will dispatch from Memphis later tonight for delivery tomorrow! Whereas if they shipped from Cupertino, they would fly from Cupertino to Memphis and then from Memphis to me in Fort Myers!

Ordered an Incase Hardshell on monday that had the same "G3 WORLDWIDE NETHERLANDS BV" postage provider and it said it would arrive tomorrow 28th but it came today 27th via regular royal mail postage.
So SL could come tomorrow and if it does, or doesnt, itll probably be by royal mail.

I sure hope my copy will be on the 5PM flight from Memphis to Baltimore. If not, I'm going to be really disappointed with Apple screwing us up-to-daters on our orders.
incase hardshell - ordered 24th, shipped 25th, delivered 27th via royal mail - i wasnt in but it has royal mail 2nd class postage sticker on it. pretty sure it was royal mail - was left at neighbours who dropped it around about 5pm.

So far I've had a couple of friends who've received shipment confirmation for Royal Mail deliveries. One for an UTD disc, the other for a retail copy. No indication what class though.
I've ordered mine with the £10 paid for delivery (courier?). This has been flagged as "Ready To Ship" all day but no dispatch confirmation yet though. Whilst a little irked there's time yet for dispatch, and if it doesn't happen today then I'll hit one of the Manchester Apple retail stores in the morning - me being one of those impatient types who've taken the day off work for SL.
In my experience normally courier usually ships later in the evening and normally ends up at your house the next day.. so fingers crossed for you.
