Apple Announces August 28th Availability of Snow Leopard

Please post your email here, so I can compare it with the one my friends over in the UK got..I want to make sure I stay up tonight, so I can watch this thread and see what time the folks closer to GMT got theirs, so I can figure out exactly what time my copy will arrive..
I guess they are better over there, since they will be installing their updates before us yanks will be...Its just not fair that they get their copies before we do..
I think there is a 24 hour Apple store in New York somewhere; it might be worth getting over there tonight, so I can install my copy at midnight, and be able to brag that I know what version number it is before anyone else can!!
I may just do a live chat with an Apple agent now, just to confirm they have put my copy in a box, and get the license plate of the Fed Ex truck that is driving it to the airport, so I can post it here, and brag that I know exactly where MY copy is...

This is so much fun, I think I will call in sick to work now, and explain to my boss I need to sign for my OS upgrade, so I can't leave the house tomorrow..

Hmm... let's see.

Get out of work at 5pm
Drive 2 hours to an Apple Store
Hope they have Snow Leopard still in stock (chances are they do)
Spend a few minutes checking out the Apple store and standing in line
Drive 2 hours home
By now it's 9:30pm
Time to install Snow Leopard
Spent money on gas and get less time to use Snow Leopard

OR...

Pre-order Snow Leopard
Get it delivered to my work on "Launch Day" (tomorrow)
Get out of work at 5pm
Drive 10 minutes to my house
Start installing Snow Leopard at about 5:15pm
Enjoy using Snow Leopard the rest of the night

I like the second option better.
 
I am kinda confused about something sorry I have been out of the loop for a while.

Wasn't it mentioned at WWDC it will be released in September? So did they decide to release it early or is another version going to be out?
 
Called the Easton store in COlumbus Ohio they are preparing for an early opening tomorrow. They said around 9 ish. Woo Hoo. I'll be in line.

I love living 2 miles from my apple store. :) I can ride a bike there. :)

I know what the title says but I didn't understand if there were two versions coming out or this is it and Twitter sucks.

I'm pretty sure MOST people live far away from an Apple store... heck, there are 2 Apple Stores in my area and both of them are about 2 hours from my house in opposite directions...hehe.

Not everyone has the convenience that you have.

im from chicago and there are plenty of apple stores there, and one 10 mins from my house in minneapolis, so I guess I'm lucky :)
 
Does anyone see in his Order (the up date package) at the Online store if its already shipped???

I know that in Europe many users see since yesterday that Snow leopart is shipped.

Here in the US store i just see "ships by August 28th"

Do i have it tomorrow in the hand here in the usa????

how does this work.....

vendors imply 'delivery on the 28th' (if you pre-ordered), but the launch date is on the 28th. so did the vendors get product beforehand to be able to deliver to your home on the 28th?

If you use standard delivery. It is coming from WITHIN THE UK! And is being sent via FIRST CLASS MAIL which is usually next day, unless you're in London!

If the disc shipments don't get to you for Saturday at the latest (UK), I can see a lot of obsessive geeks, crying into their cereal bowls... it's BANK HOLIDAY WEEKEND!!.

My up to date order still reads Not Yet Shipped with shipping by Aug 28.. it hasn't even gone into Prepared for Shipment
 
I know a few pages back someone from Florida said he received shipping confirmation. I ordered the upgrade (not up-to-date program) on Monday and it has been in "Prepared to ship/Delivers August 28" since, so I'm guessing sometime within the next few hours most US orders will flip into the shipped mode. If not I am going to be ticked, since I canceled with Amazon (with 2 day shipping via Prime) to get it Friday. ;)

I'm from Florida as well and received an email with the shipping comfirmation (and Fedex tracking number) at noon today. It is expected to be delivered toomorrow before 3PM. :apple:
 
Snow Leopard in hand!

I received my Snow Leopard family pack 3 hours ago. I pre-ordered 3 days ago.

Here in NZ it's already midday 28th August. Interestingly, my disc was couriered from Sydney. Looking forward to installing this evening :D

Yes they are releasing Snow Leopard this Friday then in September there will be the next version of OS X :eek:
