The Memoji is wearing glasses just to get everyone in the Apple/tech universe buzzing about AR glasses. Honestly I can’t see Apple announcing AR glasses when there is no one there in person to try them out. Doesn’t seem like the kind of product you’d announce at a virtual event.

The rumor was the glasses would more of a developer device with unbelievably low quantities so you are probably right.

Whatever is coming in April will probably be press releases. If an event invite doesn't go out by thursday it wont be a video. And honestly....Airtags and a speed bumped iPad doesn't warrant an "event"
Airtags are a new product, Apple will want to talk about them in a video. The iPad Pro is also said to have Mini-Led display, Apple will want to show that off and talk about it in a video.

There is plenty of time for an April video, they only really need to give a weeks notice for it since its pre-recorded and there is no need to invite press.

People still talking about an April event need to realise they wouldn't announce WWDC before that. iPad Pro will be a press release. There is no April event.
Not too sure about the need to sequence events around WWDC. WWDC is an annual event for developers. If there is an iPad or other product announcement, some sort of virtual announcement/press release is more likely than anything in person, and can be announced with minimal lead time since there is no travel requirement.

Would love an AMD Threadripper based Mac to be announced, ideally with Nvidia graphics… but it's going to be VR glasses and some laptops… probably…
Nvidia is dead to Apple. And you can't even buy an Nvidia 3xxx card these days for any near its retail list price.

Others may disagree, but I would love to see iOS, TVOS, iPad OS, and macOS all have the same major version number going forward. While I love we are finally on macOS 11, I think consumers would better understand if all the versions where equal. And for universal apps we just check for major OS version being > 14.
Why?

Also, I don't see this happening since that would tie different code bases to a similar schedule, and more importantly, lock developers on multiple teams to a similar schedule.

They may also have just been delayed for a March event, and an original timeline (arbitrary) was interrupted for an April event.

Just rationalizing, as I need to get an iPad 11” :D

They can of course create flashy videos. What I'm saying is they don't really need to mobilize a bunch of upper management to do it at an "event". Last years full support for keyboard and pointer on iPad Pro was a game changer for the device and software and it was done with a press release.

I am interested to see what they do with iPadOS the most. I think they are getting very close to using the same chips in the iPad Pro's that they do in the Mac. I would love a dual boot option, or at least more convergence of the two OS's.

Pumped to see what iPadOS 15 brings. I feel like the only area software wise that is holding back Apple hardware is iPadOS. The 2018+ iPad Pros still feel way overpowered for the software.

It’s uncertain times at the moment, I can see what you Are saying. Personally I think they will hold a small event (similar to the 40 minute one with the M1 Macs last year) to talk about Airtags and the new iPad Pro’s. The only reason I think that is because Airtags are a completely new product to Apple.

So does this mean no April event? I know that was always a rumor, but this would confirm that, right?
Why would this confirm that? Spring event is about hardware and WWDC is about software. Sure, they might introduce a new Apple Silicon Mac at WWDC, but not the full lineup expected (AirTags, iPad Pro, etc...) there.

Does anyone know the star and heart icon?

Stop website videos from auto playing in iOS 15. Please Apple 🙏🏼

So annoying when you’re playing music, especially when you have headphones on.

Begging for features? I'm in! How about a freeze button in Safari to prevent automated refreshes. I know of several sites that auto reload on a short timer, which collapses the content I'm currently reading. I end up having to re-expand the content and scroll back to where I was. I assume that is to drive more ads and appear like more clicks.

Ideally: load page to where I want it, hit freeze and the next actual click releases the freeze automatically. Power to the users!
