I'm sure they're looking into going back to in-live events as soon as possible, since journalists can be there and directly report what's happening, also getting first look at things. The obvious question when will they actually hold an in person event again? Is this the new normal?
It ain't gonna happen.iOS 16 is gonna be another iOS 15 with very small tweaks and things most people won’t need, I doubt there will be a redesign, but all I want is an option to remove the home bar I hate it
People really should stop worrying about the battery and start using the phone itself. We also need a battery percentage indicator to come back on an iPhone desperately. Getting old and tired of swiping the screen down just to check on the battery indicator. ??
The transition will end this November. They promised the AS transition would take two years. So maybe a 27” iMac replacement + new Mac Pro?
Because it's inclusive for a larger audience, and the quality of the pre-produced tech presentations is way higher than live sessions ever were?covid is over. why are they still doing this?
They actually said they “expect” it to take “about” two years…and there’s been a massive supply chain crisis in the middle of it. Don’t be surprised if they don’t quite get it done in 730 days. They promised the AS transition would take two years. So maybe a 27” iMac replacement + new Mac Pro?
I'd agree here. I've never attended an in-person one (not a developer) but instead watched the streams. That being the case, the switch from live to virtual didn't impact me. That being said though...I do like the virtual ones better. Seeing how much shorter the keynotes are really show you just how much "filler" there was in the past. Now, (for the most part) they just get straight to the point.Because it's inclusive for a larger audience, and the quality of the pre-produced tech presentations is way higher than live sessions ever were?
My guess is they may eventually do a hybrid event. But for many developers, making a trip from thousands of miles away is a considerable expense to them or their companies. This is especially true with so many developers moving to lower-cost areas and/or working 100% remotely. And then there is the limited space available at in-person events creating a mad scramble for the few tickets. The obvious question when will they actually hold an in person event again? Is this the new normal?
Then finally my phone app can have a rotary dial.Tim Cook resigns , replaced by Scott forestall
If only
Covid is not over. People are still dying. People are still getting infected. Businesses are still experiencing disruption. 4.9 million people (out of a population of around ca. 65 million) in the UK have Covid (source: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-60953501).covid is over. why are they still doing this?
Lately, developers have discovered that they would rather stay on their couches at home than go out and meet people.covid is over. why are they still doing this?
They didn't announce any hardware last year or in 2020. Not sure I'd count on it this year. WWDC has been less and less about hardware over the years. Can't wait for them to announce the new 27" (or bigger) iMac. Take my money.
In-person industry events are going the way of hot pants and hula hoops. Virtual events allow much more creativity and control. They’re a better experience for the end user, imo.covid is over. why are they still doing this?
Not for some entitled Apple employees. many are threatening to quit rather than go back to office work.covid is over. why are they still doing this?
A bunch of folks known for being socially awkward don't wanna hang out with others they don't know? No way!Lately, developers have discovered that they would rather stay on their couches at home than go out and meet people.
Good for them. I hope they make Apple realize how valuable they are.Not for some entitled Apple employees. many are threatening to quit rather than go back to office work.
