Hopefully it won’t add too much cost for you!
Actually, I would be fine with paying extra for the option. It's an option I would use daily! Just like storage and ram upgrades in mac, they are WAY overpriced as well.

I am sure that's what would happen. Touch as option, or a macbook pro 2 in 1. A totally different device. Every other manufacturer does this, I am sure apple would follow suit.

Good for you.
Most musicians and producers use an audio interface, audio inputs, MIDI controllers, etc…
Yes… as do I, they’re attached to my Mac. If I’m using logic on the iPad, I want to be mobile as it’s a… mobile device. But you enjoy your single way of being creative.

Thanks

Thanks for the info. Shows how little I know about making music on the iPad. I've avoided making any music on the iPad (aside from simple audio recordings or messing with GarageBand), since I assumed that none of my usual gear would be well-supported via plug-and-play.

That said, I still don't think I would be using Logic for iPad, or any DAW for iPad anyway... once you've got your in-studio workflow happening on the Mac (or PC for some), the iPad is really nothing more than a sketch pad for ideas. Of course, I could be underestimating the whole thing.

For me personally it would be useful for band or live multitrack recordings in the field.
I currently use a dedicated MBP for that.
Because the laptop is dedicated to this purpose only (it is therefore an appliance) I can’t see myself having to change it at any time in the near/medium future. The version of Logic used for this purpose (or the version of MacOS) is irrelevant as any editing is done on my desktop in the music studio.

No need to be offensively patronising.
You have no idea as to what I do as a musician.

If you want to plug a set of headphones, just get a dongle and be happy.

Who would do any serious sound mixing work in a cafe with a set of Bluetooth headphones as depicted in the image below? 🤷🏻‍♂️

Subscription??!??!?!! What a crock. That really grinds my gears.

Maybe if Apple didn’t ignore these products for years on end and pushed out updates and features like the competition it would seem worth it. But why am I inclined to pay $100 a year for a stagnant product? When Apple had FCP, Shake, Color, Motion, Cinema Tools, & the other apps…it was a real powerhouse of not only consumers but professionals. Today the professional apps are a joke and they want us to pay for the subpar tools. Go pound sand. Logic has gotten dumbed down over the years and lacks some thing, basically because Apple doesn’t pay attention to it often enough.

Apple, I will pay money when you pay more attention.

Yes. Even if you chose to pay 5 for one month, that’s still a very cheap trial.

That would be Second Trial; like Second Breakfast, only different...

Apple has a Lightning to 3.5mm audio cable for the AirPods Max...

Okay, Peter... ;^p

There there, I don’t think there was any aggression in my messages. I’ve been using logic since around 2009 when I got my first Mac and bought an iPad Pro with the idea of being able to compose/orchestrate using the likes of garage band while on the move. We’ve been taken down this path of wireless everything and while I love it for the most part, it would be amazing to be able to create on an iPad using AirPods. No wires, no dongles, no audio interface etc. I don’t think that’s a lot to ask.

You do know that if you don’t like the product, you could just not buy it and use something else, especially if the competition is so good! That’s the whole point of there being alternative products out there.

Out of interest, how has logic been dumbed down?

I found the license agreement and read the sections and didn’t see anything about revoking access. Correct me if I’m wrong though.

One could use the current version offline and I assume it would sill function.

I’m sure there are times when one is not connected to thd internet and needs to edit a project.

With Adobe subscription it’s different as the software is always phoning home to verify active subscription.
Which was a massive pain when the authentication servers went down. I pay annually so it should have only had to do it once.

I don't think it would do anything to ipad markets. I have an iPad and I would never use my 2 in 1 dell system for that. It's just too big and heavy. However, while editing and creating on my dell, I love the pen, touch and interaction of it. Apple, I think is missing the point and the boat. They are only thinking in "the sky is falling iPad would die" scenario. Not the ALOT of new customers would buy macbooks with 2 in 1 design and touch implementation.

As mentioned before, watch snazzylabs video on the macOS touch topic. Apple has already made "touch" modifications to MacOS, it's just a matter of time IMO. They have been behind the 8 ball in this regard and it's time!

Oh, as for adding EVERY feature...A touchscreen does not change ANYTHING in the design of the mac. Doing a two in one with foldable screen would be minimal at best. SO really there is no design change other than a 180 hinge which is easy, and does not make the device wonky, weird in design or clumsy.

Personally I'd prefer they gave us a switchable GUI on an iPad. When it's connected to a keyboard and trackpad/mouse it appears as MacOS and regular tablet mode when it's not.

But that could cannibalize alot of notebook sales.

LOL, I effed up, there is no 3.5mm audio out jack on the AirPods Max, dunno what I was thinking; but Apple has a Lightning to 3.5mm audio cable for the AirPods Max...
I assummed the lightning to 3.5 is what you meant. He's still not plugged in though 😁

$5 a month sounds unconvincing
$3 a month or $20 a year looks great. Also I would like to have a discount for Mac Final Cut users.
Final Cut is not iCloud or Music that Apple have to consistently pay for stuff like servers or copyrights.

Can’t Apple expand Apple One to include pro suite and call it Apple One Pro?

2TB cloud
Final Cut Pro
Logic Pro
Apple Music
Apple TV

All for a cool price of $24.99 per month
