I wonder if IOS will let you move the bar to the left side like you can reconfigure the home screen icons?

For sure. I’d love to combine my phone and pad into a single device. But FaceID is such a loss and I won’t be without it. So it’s a nope. I’ll be interested to have a play with one in store, and I’ll be very interested to see if “crease-gate” develops. Maybe we’ll get our wish for FaceID in Gen 2?

Welp I guess this is it... My next iPhone. 🙂

Can't wait to try it out and see how different it is to use this over a traditional phone. This is the biggest change to an iPhone ever and I don't want to miss out!

My sentiments exactly. I'm seeing more "iPad mini Duo". Is there a market for a large, $2000 device that lacks the camera capabilities of lesser iPhones as an every day carry-around phone? Not so sure. That said, the hinge tech looks amazing.

I guess the wager is all these people who wanted an iPad Mini but didn't buy one, as they only want it if it can unfold into one on the go?

I'm sure there are many who may want that ...

But it makes for a very heavy brick in your pocket, for the price of a full blown really nice MacBook Air 15".

Nothing is really for "free" here, even on foldables.

You get the smallest iPad when you unfold, and a heavy brick of an iPhone, missing some key things, the rest of the time.

So it weighs 5g more than a Pro Max? Seems like a fair tradeoff.

I really just need to see what the deal is with left-handed use. I’m fond of TouchID and the Apple Watch unlock means that even that won’t always be necessary.
 
The cameras seem to be iPhone 17 Pro cameras. I am also worried about the 18 Pro cameras because it seems that they are using the same main sensor for 5 years in a row with the only difference being variable aperture.
 
For the price, it's too small to be useful. The 7.6" screen just isn't big enough to use for a lot of the things I use an iPad for. It'd be great for my wife though, as she uses an iPhone or iPad purely as a consumption device. Not at $2000+ though.

Much better than expected, but a couple things so many have pointed out: 1) For the price, I expect the same or better features, particularly the cameras, as the Pro Max, and 2) Way to new of tech for Apple to ever consider Gen 1.
