I guess they're saving the multiple user accounts on iPad demo for the keynote just prior to the iOS 9 release? Surely that's coming soon.

Nothing but empty, meaningless rhetoric.

No, the improvements to Siri and Spotlight alone are fantastic, and the new multi-tasking and keyboard features on the iPad are downright exciting to me. That along with optimization make iOS 9 a great update, particularly since all current iOS 8-compatible devices are still being supported.

I don't use Siri or Spotlight, but I'm excited about multitasking split screen on my iPad. I like the look of a lot in iOS 9. Look forward to watching the keynote tomorrow; haven't seen it yet.

VERY SHOCKED WATCHING THE FIRST FEW MINIUTES OF THE WWDC 2015 REPLAY JUST NOW!!!!!!! ITS AN OUTRAGE (very disappointed!)

Notice how no one has mention how this is a carbon copy of microsoft's windows 8 snap/multitasking.
but if this was the other way around, you ppl will be at an uproar how everything is copying apple.

apple would file patents on edge slide to split view and start suing every one.
notice how Microsoft introduced this in 2011 and filed no patents and isn't suing no one?

This post will go un-noticed because it contains truth.
i remember a few years back when cook was saying "everyone is copying us, we can't be the developer of the world".

Yet everything they have done in the last few years has been a copy of what some one did and didn't bully anyone with patents.

I have found lately that it's hard to find a good Apple community that isn't full of negativity. I think that part of it is due to the fact that Apple has become more popular and ubiquitous, and thus the tightknit fan community of the past is being drowned out by casual naysayers. Why anyone would have seriously negative feelings about this WWDC is beyond me; everything looked great and Metal for OSX appears to me to be the fix that a lot of people complaining of "UI lag" were looking for.

Split screen multitasking on the iPad is "meh" now? Some people are just never going to be pleased, I guess. I'm excited about Fall, personally.

The split screen multitasking is an odd one. Apple clearly weren't first, but who was? Windows 8 and Samsung on the Galaxy Tabs. No one could argue that the Windows Store is better than the App Store, and as there's no native split-screen multitasking in Android, the split screen multitasking on Samsung's tablets is very limited.

In fact, if Google introduced split-screen multitasking in Android N, it would still be years away for Android users because of the painfully slow adoption rate of new Android versions.

I'm not whining. Every time they used it in the past you walked away saying Apple introduced X that can do Y, but I can't tell you what X or Y is this time. They introduced Apple Music, which they already had and it plays radio stations which it already did. People that say its "like Spotify but by Apple" must have missed that this was the Developers Conference, which Spotify is part of.

What exactly did they demo that no one else but Apple could do?

Implement split-screen multitasking that already works with thousands of apps.

There is no native split-screen multitasking on iPad so you either get an add on - like Samsung implements - with limited compatibility - or you go to Windows and lose a lot of key apps.

If Android introduced native split-screen multitasking, it wouldn't have the reach iOS 9 has, because of how slowly new Android versions are adopted.

Well, that's that I guess. A few decent additions sprinkled throughout a bunch superfluous fluff. I can multi task now by swiping between open apps. Pretty easy, IMO.

Another music service? Geeshus. We needed that, for sure.

Yawn.

Well apple never promised you this kind of multitasking when you bought your iPad Air . The device is from 2013 and now you get "Slide Over" "PIP" and it still pisses people off, do you really expect to get every feature on older devices?. I'm just sitting here with my iPad Air 1 and i'm getting a new os that is much smoother security updates and new features and i'm happy and it's free.

i am completely unimpressed. The new iPhone features could have been released in a x.1 update.
The news app is a joke, developers have released similar apps years ago, why is apple now trying to do all the apps themselves?
Other than that there are like 4 new features which I probably won't use.
Gotta love the I, I, I and me, me, me, as if you were the only one iOS was designed for. Maybe others enjoy those new functions. Just because they are not for you doesn't mean they shouldn't have been created.

So I may have missed it but I'm kind of curious about the developer end of this. People keep saying this is all for devs but most of these are customer facing features. What about a Siri API or access to the NFC components in the iPhone?

Any word on that?

Why is split view only available for iPad Air 2. Surely my iPad Air can handle this...I cannot think of why Apple would do this other than to try and spur new iPad sales. Not really cool to owners of the not so old original iPad Air
Most likely it's because of the limited amount of ram, not the power of your iPad Air. Since the iPad Air 2 has 2GB ram split screen perhaps works flawlessly without stuttering.

Understand your point but just remember that if all of the I and me people are unhappy enough with Apple, that may affect future purchasing decisions.

For me at least, this was the most uneventful key note that i have experienced. Pretty much brings no excitement at all.
I know right? And all the money you spent on the WWDC ticket just to watch it and be disappointed. My new idea is next year Apple should make this show for developers. Pity that they don't.

You're absolutely right, I can't argue that, but keep this in mind, most of the "I, I , I's and me, me me's" are nothing more than techies and enthusiasts and as odd as it may seem they/we are in the minority big time. The consumer buying audience is 100x larger and doesn't care about who copied who, what features Android has or Windows has that Apple's system doesn't or if this keynote was too boring to live. These same responses happen every single year after WWDC. Nothing new other than Apple continually getting bigger and richer. They are doing something right.

Still missing dark mode in Settings and a clear all button in notification center (maybe coming with force touch this fall?).

Honestly, I don't care who did it first; I use Apple products so I want them to be the best they can be, and this is definitely a nice feature addition. I'm not interested in taking sides in a war against other platforms; I like what I like and am excited at what the year holds for me with Apple.

Does iOS 9 seem empty to you? It really doesn't add any value. Especially if you don't use siri.
.....or care about more battery life, or better notes app or better performance, or more security, or.............

So yeah doesn't really seem to be worth the money to update to me....oh wait. how much did they say it would be anyway?

No transit maps for LA yet LOL!! You need a PhD to map that insanity. And to ride any distance you need at least 3 hours ;-)

He's one of the same people who complains when iOS 7 doesn't look like iOS 6 and iOS 8 isn't stabile enough. Not worth your time.

You are spot on, however I am referring specifically to how they anounced Apple Music. The One More Thing part was disorganized and left me wondering what I was supposed to be buying into.

more excuses. admit it, apple copied. and if this was the other way around. you would want to burn MS/SAMMY/GOOGLE at the stake
