The company isn't digging through my phone, advertisers aren't digging through my phone - my phone is digging through my phone. To make it do more stuff for me.

...Don't see how that's any more of a privacy problem than spell check going through my document :p

Woild you be concerned if iTunes recommended songs based on your document later in the day..... Just on your phone but ;) well at first ......

Microsoft copied Mission control in Windows 10… We're at the point where everyone is copying everyone anyway.
Sad really, though you are correct I believe .

Though that is why I liked jobs, he would have not settled for the bar to drop like this . For me it seems all the boys in apple have gotten fat and lazy, yeah I mean the guys presenting today, it's like they are on the way to retirement and cruzing. Did they close the gym at apple HQ?

It's pretty easy to disentangle yourself now; I love iMessage personally, particularly at work where the cell signal is basically non-existent but we have a wireless network. Without iMessage, I'd never get text messages there.

My bad experience was just changing headsets for 2 months , and when I came back to apple, it was a lottery on which device to message turned up on . I'm sure it's sorted now , but it was a mess for long time.

Dude, come on...there's no way of knowing what Jobs would be doing today. The market is vastly different than it was even two years ago; fanboy or not, it has to be acknowledged that other companies are really trying to step up their game in light of Apple's dominance, and it's harder to maintain a lead on the cutting edge. I haven't really seen any big missteps by Apple, and if you're trying to cite multitasking on the iPad as one, then I don't see how there could possibly be any pleasing you.

Was something announced along these lines, or are you invoking the "slippery slope" straw man?

It would be interesting if iTunes recommends music based on my having an email folder labeled R.S.C.D.S. (Royal Scottish Country Dance Society). Should I send myself a message mentioning Pipe and Drum Corpse?

ive worked with ads too long in my career, if a company can find info to make money from you, they will, but will tell you privacy is very important :)

Agh the unified message app.... That was one awesome implementation! Though if you ever left apple, what a cluster **** ! I don't know if iMessage works these days, but it was a total mess for years and i refuse to turn it on again.
Hangouts is a cluster regardless of your OS history.

You're just trying to stir up trouble at this point. There's no reason to believe that Apple is talking out of both sides of its mouth, and actually has a great track record when it comes to privacy. Tim Cook has clearly decided to make privacy a marketing strategy for Apple, so it makes even less sense for them to sell privacy so hard during the keynote only to exploit it the way you're predicting.

It doesn't hurt them. Source: Animal rescuer and cat lover (yeah, I said it, and I'm a dude). I have two cats that I bottle raised from newborns, they think I'm their mother, I scruff them when needed and it doesn't hurt them a bit.

It does NOT serve any purpose in the leader, this procedure is done when NEEDED. Can not see the point of it in the leader WWDC 2015 IMHO!

It just looks STUPID using cats for this reason!

Cheers

Still lacking a sufficient file system. Maybe I'm "old school" but my iPad just isn't getting the use that I would like from it. Guess I'll still use it as an e-reader for now while I do all my work on my Macbook Air (which is amazing btw).

Since the cats were not hurt in any way, what reason is there to not use them in that scene?

The new search feature seemed to be accessed by 'swiping left on the home screen'. Does that mean you can't search from every screen by pulling down as you now can?? That would be a massive step backwards if I have to swipe through ten screens of apps or hit the home button every time I want to search.

I don't buy the "everybody is ripping off everybody" angle, because Windows and OS X have been bouncing ideas off each other constantly. Between windows and minimizing apps and countless other behaviors, I don't get why people are only noticing the functional redundancy now.

Oh its been happening for years. Microsoft usually seems to do more borrowing though.

Components of Windows 7 and 8 were taken straight out of OSX - Like the task bar/Dock in Windows 7, the new search in 7(or was it vista) which is similar to spotlight, the Windows app store.. it goes on and on.

So the problem is, as an OS X user, I want my computer to behave similarly to a PC, but I want the implementation to be different and for the feature I'm missing to fit into the OS X architecture.

Why is split view only available for iPad Air 2. Surely my iPad Air can handle this...I cannot think of why Apple would do this other than to try and spur new iPad sales. Not really cool to owners of the not so old original iPad Air
100% right. Apple scre*ed all the Air v1 users.

My windows tablet with 1GB RAM does split view just fine. Heck my netbook from 2008 with 512MB RAM does split view fine too.
