From the Apple website, it seems that the GPU in the regular model lacks a core compared to the Pro models. Is this the first time they differentiate the SoC between the different product lines?

stop talking about "privacy"

You burnt that bridge apple
How did they burn it? Csam is held back. Others in the industry are worse.

improvements: yes
- pull iCloud servers and data from within China borders. Should complaints arise pull out or steak in an independent reliable on corruptible VPN ;)
- encrypt end to end iCloud backups and iCloud server data. pay whatever gov fines you need to Apple you have the money.
- Cook use your influence to dissuade use of PRISM. Trust I’m sure many higher ups would need that personally too.

that would be a start.

Did, you see the improvement in battery life on Apple.com it says 9 hours longer video playback that's an upgrade.

not sure what your comment relates to my post though?

I LOVE the battery improvements. I had a question how to specifically use UltraWide from wide camera.

My issue is the currency exchange rate still screwing us Canadians over.

$699 start for the mini in the USA. Canada it’s $949.
The actual conversation should be 887.34 or $0.78US:$1CAN dollar. We have lower unemployment percentage rates (lower population and higher GDP too since the pandemic), our dollar conversion rate has been above $0.75 for 60 days so what gives?

still I get a good $549CAN exchange rate for my 12 mini. Just deciding on 13 Pro 256/512GB or 13 Mini $256/512. I don’t see myself really using the crazy camera and video improvements on the Pro and I can’t see myself using 512GB on the mini even with all the screenshots and pics I take most pics I take are garbage anyway lol.

Yeah this is the most disappointing thing for me too lol

Got a Mini on Release, last year (and very, very happy, still), but I must say: the PBlue-Pro really had me tempted ;)

Outside of pure-white, the best colour to-date.

Just read your post Candian prices are that high like jesus christ how much is the 13 pro max?

are you sitting down ….

if the border was open id take a weekend flight to NYC purchase the 13 Pro x2 come back and sell it with a profit and keep one which would still be cheaper.

That was the lamest Apple event ever! There was no new feature worthy of an event by Apple - kind of embarrassing. Aside from the iPhone, that I get every year, I’m not upgrading anything else. The only reason I am getting it really, is because of the camera improvements and I need to upgrade to 512GB RAM.

How are you able to specifically use the ultra wide on demand? I think it’s automatic only right?
You either pinch and zoom out (move your fingertips closer together) or just tap on the zoom level indicator and it switches the camera to 0.5 zoom (i.e. wide angle).
I use the ultra wide incredibly often, for both landscape and interior photography.

aahh ok so I’m doing this right then. Do you get lens blur too?

SO incremental. '12S' would have been the perfect name. Extra battery life is welcome, but my 12 mini is not bad with that except for while browsing in Safari.

Now it's the blue that's washed out like most of the other colours of the 12. Fantastic return to real 'Ferrari' red! Choosing the colour will be harder with the 13 than with the 12.

With the news of the discontinuing of the mini next year, I will need to watch the news through the year and pounce on the 13 mini near the end. I will be committed to the 13 mini for 5 years. This form factor is it.

BWAHAHHA THEIR EVERY DAY HERO Motorcycle Movie... who will sue them first?

I really find it hard to believe that anyone could actually think that the timing of those two direct from Apple releases - - the keynote motorcycle movie and last week's motorcycle vibrations press release - - was accidental.

The four day gap for reaction after the initial press release notifying that "Exposing your iPhone to high amplitude vibrations within certain frequency ranges, specifically those generated by high-power motorcycle engines, can degrade the performance of the camera system." and yesterday's "Everyday Hero" official trailer for the iPhone 13 was clearly designed as a 2-step strategy to defuse internet hot takes.

More importantly, this combined strategy allows Apple to decrease their liability for iPhone repairs, as noted in this perceptive comment via Engadget:

"A warning doesn’t mean you can’t do it. It’s just that you are taking that risk, if you choose to do it. It’s more about warranty liability, I would say. On that note, since when is risk a deciding factor for somebody riding a motorcycle? ;)"

This is an important leverage moment for Apple, with the imminent influx of many, many new users of their sensor-shift optical image stabilization (OIS) system (formerly only available to Pro Max users), as it now becomes available across the entire iPhone 13 line (right down to the Mini).

Nope, this was no accident.
