I actually really like it. I love the look of the back of the phone, The black bumper looks really sharp, i like the thinness... it actually looks like a well built phone. Not a fan of the plastic phones out there. As far as screen size, I don't want a much bigger screen... I have an iPad for that.

People who can't or don't want to upgrade from their current phone, I suppose. Humans have a need to rationalize their decisions. They like what they can have, and dislike what they can't.

People have different opinions. Duh 🙂 I can have and probably will have the iPhone 5 as I need a phone, so I sincerely hope i will like it when I see it live...´til then I´ll stick to my opinion: the glass back was more elegant for the white model.

Can anyone explain this?

$200 for the 16 GB model? I'm not one to buy a new phone every year just 'cuz, but as much as they're trying to charge me to fix the screen on my 4S I may as well just wait and grab this.

So? HHow is this important? Who cares about that mm?

The guy I was replying to said an improvement he would like to see was a slimmer design.

Was simply pointing out it is one of the slimmest in the world. Way to take one paragraph from a post directed toward someone else and take it out of context....

Is the 'Lightning' cable's USB end USB3? I assume it is!

Not that my lappy has USB or Thunderbolt (😵)

So a pretty null feature for me unless I buy a new pooter too!

Apple blew it with the default wallpaper for iOS 6. It's not that bad on the white iPhone 5 but looks lame on the black one.

You know you can change that, right?

Personally, I always use an all-black wallpaper, saves a little on battery life and doesn't distract from the icons.

This phone looks absolutely fantastic.

The seams are gone - no need for stupid bumpers to hide them anymore. The length makes it look even more elegant - brings the monolith from 2001 Space Odyssey to mind. The anodized black aluminum on the back saves it from being too shiny. It's better in a way that matte screen is better than the glossy one.

It's decent, but I'm a little disappointed there's nothing huge. Also, where are the new iMacs and Mini's for hell's sake?!

I agree for the black model. For the white model, it looks to me to be a step back from the gorgeous white glass.

Software drives hardware upgrades for me.

Usually I upgrade hardware based on some new gee-whiz feature in the software that requires the new hardware.

I went from iPhone 4 to 4S for Siri, for example. I haven't studied the information from the event closely (have to work some you know!), but I really don't see anything in iOS6 that will cause me to upgrade to the iPhone 5.

I guess if I was a big time gamer, maybe, but otherwise, I don't see it. Anyone pick out a gee-whiz software feature that will "require" the new iPhone 5 hardware?

I dont know if I should upgrade just because I dont want to lose my unlimited data with verizon. Is this correct that if I upgrade and add another two years I cant keep my unlimited?

Are the seams gone? Do you mean on the side? I still see them on the new phone...

Black or white...I want a red one. NFC is missing and I was hoping for a built in video projector and GPS. Hell, I don't even like calling anyone nor people calling me.

So many stupid comments in here...

It's not revolutionary or anything. It's simply slightly better in ever way. I don't really have any issues with my 4S. I'm not really sure what people expect really. They want some crazy new design? It's a friggin phone. Obviously I haven't used one yet, but I like what I see.

I'll tell you what people wanted , a wider phone. The iPhone is so skinny you get cross eyed looking at it after a while.

The one hand argument is BS . There are many ways to hold a phone. We have hands NOT flippers.

Ok .......Maybe if you have hands like this it might be a problem

But for the rest of us and a LOT of Galaxy S3 users ...Its not a problem at all.

Apple just doesn't want to admit that they painted themselves into a corner with their App Ecosystem.

Fragmentation is just another word for diversity.

I dunno. I was 99% ready to preorder. I'm eligible for an upgrade even though I have a 4S, but I'm disappointed. Not in the actual phone, but the related costs it will have. I'll need a new case and screen cover, a couple adaptors, and I'll be out an additional $100-200. Plus, the adaptors are not iPod Out. I won't be able to use this new iPhone in my car until my car manufacturer (BMW) builds a new adaptor, which could be many months. I feel deflated now.
