The polished titanium is going to pop on the white model. Still, it lives and dies on the battery life. ‘All day battery’ is quite a vague statement, especially after all the tech specs meant to show that longevity was their number one priority.

Curious why choose the air over the 17 non-pro? It’s only marginally thicker, but actually significantly smaller in height and width, so it would be better for fitting in purses. Now that they have added promotion to the non-pro iPhone it seems like a no brainer.
It’s a fashion phone rather than one of utility. If you’re eyeing this up it’s not for the specs but the very slim chassis. That’s the whole selling point really.

Personally I think they’re sowing the seeds of a flip phone which will inherit the Air moniker next year.

iPhone Air: 165 g (5.8 oz)
my current iPhone 15 Pro: 187 g (6.6 oz)
old ideal iPhone X: 174 g (6.1 oz)
old iPhone 12 mini: 133 g (4.7 oz)

I am that close to being sold on the Air, which also has a optional bumper to offset the surely incredible heat from the titanium frame. Maybe Apple should call it the iPhone semiPro? 🤔

I'm curious about that too. According to their updated comparison tool, the Air is rated for up to 27 hours of video playback. For comparison they said the 14 Pro was rated for up to 23 hours.

I am very, very tempted by the Air. I have a 16PM now on IUP. I was already considering downsizing to the 17P for weight and one handed usability, but this might just sway me. I take a lot of photos, but I don't know that I am really utilizing the all Pro/Pro Max's 3 camera functions. The battery life numbers on the Apple Store site are encouraging and better than anticipated, I think. The C1X modem intrigues me if it's faster than the 16e. My mom's 16e already seemed to be comparable most of the time to my 16PM. I guess the only thing I wonder, if "it's 2x faster" is if it supports mmWave or not. Not that it's a deal breaker, they actually gave me something to genuinely consider.

This is a good point. I'd guess a lot of Air customers don't need the extra power and they are simply paying a premium for the thinnest/lightest iPhone possible. But it's certainly a bit taller/wider.

This would be very acceptable (and an instant buy) at 6” (or less) and with that camera recessed into the bump.
So tired of everything getting worse year over year.

Edit: I just want to reiterate, now that I’ve had time to review this more, the only things I care about are screen size (smaller) and camera bump (none), and MagSafe (any wattage).
Don’t care about camera quality, battery life, lightning / usb speed, screen refresh rate, front camera features, zoom ability, Apple intelligence, ram, storage space, etc. And please get rid of the camera control.
I just desperately want a light, pocketable, boring phone that can sit flat on my desk, works nicely with my other devices / runs iOS-only apps I love, and doesn’t look like five different departments fought over the features.
Other than maybe the Dynamic Island (struggling to find something), I can’t think of any phones that have been better than the iPhone 12 Mini.

I’m curious about the C1X modem. Please share here what you’ll find.

I was intrigued by the Air and now I’m in love with it after today! Nobody made renders with the shiny polished frame.

I will not trade in my 16 Pro for an iPhone Air, I will not…. 🤪 🤣🤣
