The Xs is going to make a wonderful upgrade from my 6s. I still don't get the disappointment from so many on this forum, I don't understand the mentality of upgrading every year, or every 3 years for that matter.

I was so ready to upgrade to the XS but 64GB for £999 is nuts considering the minor upgrades and still using the crappy 5W charger. Seriously looking at the 64GB 8 for £599 to replace my 6S. Last years chip but will still be fine for years and £400 cheaper than the XS

I was all excited until the pricing was announced. I'm still going to get it, but as a heavy AAPL investor, I think they're throwing away an opportunity. You just can't have the cheapest new phone starting at $749, or your flagship STARTING at $1099. I get it, you can get a 7 or an 8 for cheaper, but even those aren't cheap. They're ignoring a huge segment of the market.

It was simply an odd presentation. The Watch 4, yeah that was cool. LOT of boredom coming out of the new phones this time. It's like that at times with the S model Keynotes...but this time it really felt dull.

Anyway, I don't know why I expected for cheaper price point for the OLEDs, maybe I read too many rumors. I honestly didn't see the $1099 starting price for the 64GB Max coming. $999 for 64gb, THEN $1099 for the 128gb.

So...yeah, that was deflating. Oh well, I was wrong.
BUT...still debating of course like I do every darn year.

All the features shown existed in past models, particularly the X. They've just been "refined"

There is literally nothing new on these phones.

I can't believe they haven't added a single new feature to the phone LMAO...

Well it depends. If you just ignore the XS then you can see that the XR is an upgrade if you made a financially sound decision and never agreed to pay 1000 bucks for a phone that should have been the regular release at $749. The mistake really happened last year. Me? I'll get an XR and go on about my life and hope people stop falling for these financial ripoff shenanigans of the "New Apple". I got the 8 last year and was just fine. No way I pay $1k because they felt like being scam artists. Same this year and next. I think it just took some people until this year to see the scam. It was always there.

Ok, but if you DID upgrade every year certainly you see the problem if you just want to go X -> XS.

That's great, I'd rather have a refined experience that clunky new features that aren't worth a crap. Like what Android phone put out.

Apple throwing in a 5w charger on a 1k plus phone. Thanks.........
Yes that's crazy. Not only because other manufacturers offer faster options but because the XS Max is supposed to have the biggest battery to date. Charging the X with a regular charger takes forever so I can only imagine the case of the Max. Thankfully I have multiple iPad and other third party chargers.

Yea, I see a terribly consumer mindset. I'm an IT guy, I love technology and seeing it advance, but I've never understood the desire to upgrade yearly other than the dopamine hit that it clearly provides for some people. My next iPhone will be around for 4+ years (provided I can replace the battery) and my 2015 MBP will likely still be my machine well into 2021-2022.
