I remember when Intel said their graphics were so good you didnt need a dedicated graphics processor. Oh man. That was funny. Good times. Now Apple is telling me the same joke, and its still funny.
I used to be a detractor too (especially the last decade...ugh). But man, Apple is new. Shiny and new. The future looks fantastic.I am so excited that Apple is finally going "Back to the Mac". Designing new chips just for the Mac platform is HUGE!

All 3 had wifi 6 listed.Incredible. But only two thunderbolt ports? Also, no mention of whether it has WiFi 6...
That's RAM, not storage. And no, iPhones don't have 16 GB of RAM. Base model is 256 GB of storage.up to 16 GB? WTF? Even iPhones have merely more than that...
It’s got an extra GPU core (8 vs 7) according to the store app. Not sure that makes enough of a difference though!this is the first time im gonna say it, and i'll say it strong: this is not a pro device. they took the exact same chip showed off for a macbook air and a mac mini, slapped pro on it and then somehow claimed this sucker is going to perform way better, and called it "pro"
not even like an M2 or M1X, it's the same processor. no mention of it being higher clock speed, higher ram, better gpu, etc in the base config at this higher price.
I would have liked to see some real numbers but we should have those soon enough. Is it really faster? Let’s hope so.The M1 is a game changer... battery life is just insane
I think you’re underestimating just how optimized this thing is going to be. You won’t need 32gb ram. That’s what I’m not liking about this new chip. The ram options will be tied to the chip. Would’ve loved to see 32gb ram in 13” pro.
A lot of that going around (looks suspiciously at iPhone 12 pro).Seems like a pretty small difference between the Air and Pro.
Lol....people have been saying that about iPads and iPhones forever yet they continue to smash the competition...often times with half the memory.MacBook Pro. A lot of people rely on the MacBook Pro for things that are both CPU and Memory intensive. Even if Apple Silicon Macs use less memory on average, 16GB almost certainly isn’t enough for most Pros if you want to use your Mac for at least a couple of years.
Same as I was thinking, face id or at least s o m e t h i n g to get achieve a pro signaturethis is the first time im gonna say it, and i'll say it strong: this is not a pro device. they took the exact same chip showed off for a macbook air and a mac mini, slapped pro on it and then somehow claimed this sucker is going to perform way better, and called it "pro"
not even like an M2 or M1X, it's the same processor. no mention of it being higher clock speed, higher ram, better gpu, etc in the base config at this higher price.
You must be new to Apple or you'd have remembered the Intel transition back in 2006, when no new designs were promptly introduced.Has Apple become a boring company? I mean, the chips look promising but their products look literally the same and have looked the same for around a decade and a half. I was expecting at the very least a name change. They used to show the new hardware/design first and then show the details. Now it just seems to be about the details.
