Apple Announces New iPad Pro With M2 Chip and Other New Features

New pro apps are coming to the ipadOS....nice to see the grow for this segment since the hardware is already there

Sorry, but if you want a new 11" buy this one...it may be the last 11" ipad pro
I think apple will stick with the ipad air as 11" tablet and the pros goes for 14" same panel as the 14" Mbp
The thing is if they are going off of the metrics for last year’s sales, it was literally because they did not add the mini-LED display to the 11”. It’s the reason I didn’t upgrade my 2018 then, and it’s the same reason I won’t this year again. Sucks because I know there are others like me which will impact sales negatively again for the 11”. I really hope they don’t get rid of it. They’d be selling like hotcakes if Apple kept parity with the feature set between them. They’re both PRO devices.

10th gen iPad has A14 and 64GB for $449... the brand new Apple TV has an A15 and 64GB for $129 and A15 with 128GB of storage for $149US.

How does the case, battery and screen cost $320 and also still has a cheaper A14 unit?

the screen is the most expensive part of the iPad I'd imagine.

So, these releases didn't warrant a keynote, huh
Here’s the transcript of the keynote that would’ve been:
“Thank you for joining us today. We’re VERY excited to show you some of the [lower voice, put emphasis] most powerful, advanced [voice back to normal] products Apple has ever made.”

the 11" will be gone after this generation, so why place mini-led just for this one?!
i think air will be gone. almost same specs as current basic model. or maybe you are right and they will give pro motion to air and 11 will be obsolete

A new SoC that is hotter with little usable performance gains and a significantly increased price. Apple what planet are you living on?

I will stick with my 2017 another cycle and do my bit to keep the inflation down.

Hovering pencil? Is it going to levitate or something?
This is actually a super nice feature, especially for artists. Wacom has had a very similar feature for decades on their tablet lines, and I believe the Surface lineup also has the same feature.

they are pro devices because they have PROmotion and now hardware proRAW etc
But i understand the dilemma ....this should have been since day 1 along side the 12.9" mini-led...but now? now its too late from business aspects.

Excited for this upgrade from my 11" 2018 Pro A12X. Going to the 12.9" model strictly for the better screen and size is easier to write on compared to the 11" which is a little small for me to write my big ass notes on.

I have the 11 inch M1 Pro but I regret not getting the 12.9 so was waiting to see what these looked like before upgrading. Was considering waiting until the M1 12.9 goes on the refurb store, looks like that’s the best option

A bit confused that they have retained the first gen pencil for the new entry level iPad - wonder if there's any reason why it couldn't be enabled for the higher spec devices?
Landscape camera on the entry iPad. Apple may need another year to figure out how to move the camera and charge the gen 2 pencil on the pro iPads.

The joke is that most people use the iPad in portrait orientation 90% of the time. So, they screwed over the users of the base model. Glad they didn't bring that disastrous change to the Pro.

Yeah because Apple makes so many portrait keyboards to use the iPad in. And they make so many stands that keep the iPad in portrait for Teams and FaceTime calls. Keep dreaming, it’s meant to be used in landscape.
