so... just to confirm... there is still no supersized iPad Pro? (bigger than the existing 12.9-inch model)
Thanks!
Thanks!
Who? everyone I know uses their iPad primarily in landscape mode. The joke is that most people use the iPad in portrait orientation 90% of the time. So, they screwed over the users of the base model. Glad they didn't bring that disastrous change to the Pro.
Wait, so they gave the base ipad a facetime camera in landscape mode but left it on the side for the pro? Guess I'll keep my 11" M1 till they actually make some significant changes.
What's the replacement for the small iPad Pro?the 11" will be gone after this generation, so why place mini-led just for this one?!
Source on that?the 11" will be gone after this generation, so why place mini-led just for this one?!
You do not understand because you do not draw on computers. Hover is meaningful for artists.yep..but the question is...is this feature a good feature? i dont understand the use for it
What was the point?...
Apple today introduced a new iPad Pro with the M2 chip, a new hovering Apple Pencil feature, faster Wi-Fi 6E, and more.

With the M2 chip, the new iPad Pro has up to 15% faster CPU performance and up to 35% faster GPU performance compared to the previous iPad Pro with the M1 chip, according to Apple. The chip has a new media engine and image signal processor that enables ProRes video recording for the first time and up to 3x faster ProRes video transcoding.
On the new iPad Pro, the second-generation Apple Pencil is now detected while it hovers up to 12mm above the display, allowing users to see a preview of their drawing before they make it. And with Scribble, text fields automatically expand when the pencil gets near the screen.
The new iPad Pro is the first Apple device with Wi-Fi 6E, with Apple advertising download speeds of up to 2.4Gbps.
The new iPad Pro is available to order starting today on Apple.com and in the Apple Store app in the U.S. and 27 other countries, with pricing starting at $799 for the 11-inch model and at $1,099 for the 12.9-inch model. Color options include Space Gray and Silver, with 128GB, 256GB, 512GB, 1TB, and 2TB storage configurations. Deliveries to customers and in-store availability will begin Wednesday, October 26.
The new iPad Pro models have the same size and weight, display brightness and resolution, and battery life as the previous models, according to Apple's tech specs. There remains a Thunderbolt port, four speakers, Face ID, and a rear Smart Connector on both models. There is also still a physical nano-SIM card tray on cellular models.

Great for Apple then, but how does this benefit me in an iPad?Increase M2 volume --> increase M2 yields --> provide better value.
Good point, I didn't realize the base iPad STILLMaybe because of the magnets for holding the Apple Pencil.
More like I blew up my credit card ordering it.What does the BOOM mean? Are you going to blow it up after you get it?
same as the A15 from 13 Pro cant do the cinematic 4K + photonic engine like the regular 14 can (with the same chip btw.So the insanely powerful M1 iPad Pro from last year can’t do the Pencil hover? lol my god.
Not surprised by this update - the avg lifespan for iPads before upgrading is 4 years. If you're coming from a 2018(like me) or earlier Pro, this will be a tangible upgrade. 2020-2021 Pro users are most likely fine keeping their current hardware until the next refresh.
Not including the XDR display on the M2 11" is a baffling omission.
Or more confusingly, why doesn't iPadOS support the Eye Tracking feature for FaceTime, which iPhones have support since the iPhone 12.Nothing says Pro more than the complete lack of direct eye contact on FaceTime as you pretend to listen to the other person whilst actually multitasking on something else more important because, well, you’re a Pro remember.
Yes was looking forward to a new “midnight” iPad, but definitely not a deal breaker.Such a small upgrade. No midnight or deep purple color![]()
How does this benefit you?Great for Apple then, but how does this benefit me in an iPad?
My M2 Air is insanely capable as a laptop. Putting this same chip in an iPad with iPadOS seems increasingly absurd. Don't get me wrong, faster is better, but it seems so unnecessary.
